Hi saket22,

Did you change your hdd to any ssd ? Because if u change and install fresh windows 10 on your ssd then only you get those 30 drivers through windows update other wise you will never get those driver updates.

My advice is better you download the hp cloud recovery tool and download the windows 10 through that. Then install the windows 10 with that tool. It's easy and safe also.

Some windows download drivers are not support for your laptop. Check whether audio mute indicator light is working or not?

Better you install the hp support assistance software for your laptop and check the driver updates.

There are options to test several of the components, including the battery and the AC Adapter (charger).

The battery is likely just dead and must be replaced.

If you wish to do so, test both battery and the AC Adapter.

The test for the Adapter is in Component tests.

Hi:

I would use the popular and free Macrium Reflect backup utility.

I use this to make a system image of my PC's hard drives and usually make a new image monthly.

The software will also have you make bootable rescue media that you boot from to access the system image you stored on your portable USB hard drive.

I heartily second what recommended as I use MR every week to do image backups, and in years of using it, it has never failed me once!

1) Download and install Macrium Reflect (MR) from here: http://www.macrium.com/reflectfree.aspx
2) Run MR and choose the option: "Create an image of the partition(s) required to backup and restore Windows" to write a full backup to an external drive or USB stick
3) Use the option to create a boot USB stick or CD

My experience is that MR, when using the High Compression option, typically can compress the saved image file to about 50% of the USED space in the OS partition. This means if you have an 80GB OS partition, and 40GB is used, MR only needs about 20GB to store the image file.

I use this all the time and it typically takes less than 15 minutes to do the image backup and about the same time or less to do a restore.

Plus, MR has the option to Add a Recovery Boot Menu entry. This allows you then to boot into WinRE, and you can then use that to do a restore -- when you can't boot into Windows!

NOW, you have the means to restore a full working system from the external drive or USB stick in only a few minutes.

<Sigh>  Every time I read one of these Factory-Reset-Failed posts I cringe and continue to wonder why everyone seems to think a factory reset is a miracle cure when, in many cases, it only serves to make things worse!

If a factory rest starts out OK and then halts part way through, that is nearly always an indication of a failing drive -- which is a hardware issue that a factory reset will do nothing to fix.

To check for hard drive failing, if your PC is new enough to support UEFI, you can use these steps to test the hard drive: http://support.hp.com/us-en/document/c00439024

If not, you have to follow these steps:
1) Press Esc key repeatedly, several times a second, while rebooting the laptop. Do NOT hold the key down, just press it over and over.
2) Eventually, you will see an HP Startup Menu
3) press the Function key for testing the hard drive (usually F2) and let it run.

Repairing Disk Errors

My computer was turned on and "Repairing disk errors. This might take an hour to complete" was on the screen. Once this completed I found that all the files were lost. I did a fast check on the hardware but everything passed. The fast test PASS ID  is as follows: 29997-53110-53654.

The serial number: 8CC7501H7R

Will I be able to recover my files from the computer?

No one knows for sure. Why? Because when CHKDSK encounters a corrupted sector, it takes that out of use -- meaning the data formerly in that sector is gone.  Data recovery apps MIGHT be able to get that back, but there is no guarantee.

The best approach to doing data recovery from a drive is to remove it from the existing PC and connect it another one using an adapter, but since this is an All-in-One, which basically is an oversized laptop, that can be very difficult to remove.  So, your only alternative is going to be to try to recover the files in-place to external media, and I don't know if that will work.

You need to do the following:
1) Download and install this utility on the PC http://www.majorgeeks.com/news/story/recover_data_in_3_steps_with_minitool_power_data_recovery_free_edition.html
2) Run the data recovery utility to see what can be retrieved from the drive.

If that tool does not find what you need, an alternative is Recuva http://www.piriform.com/recuva

And, if that does not work well, the best tool out there is this one, but only the demo version is free https://www.runtime.org/data-recovery-software.htm

Product Name : HP Elite x2 1012 G2 Tablet

Product No. Y5E22AV

Operating System: Windows 10 Pro

Background:

I did a fresh recovery of Windows 10 from the recovery partition.

Issue:

I could not use the caret key (shift + 6) on the HP Elite x2 1012 Travel Keyboard.

The Keyboard is functional. I could use all the keys on the keyboard even "6".

I could use shift + (with any key) except 6.

Observation:

When the PC Boots up and logins, I could briefly use Caret key for a short while.

Attempt to remedy:

1. I did re-installation of HP Collaboration Keyboard app.

https://support.hp.com/us-en/drivers/selfservice/hp-collaboration-keyboard/16005024

2. I tried to reinstall all Keyboard drivers from windows as well.

3. I tried remove any services that require Input or uses Input devices.

All attempt doesn't work.

Black Screen after I turn on the laptop

Well I turn off my laptop, but when I turn it on, it showed the Omen logo and a loading, but then the screen went to black, but nothing like the screen went off, just like a light black, I tried with the BIOS update, I did it but it didn't solve the problem, I change the places where the RAM's where but the problem is still there. I don't know what I need to do or if the problem is the hard disk, which I hope it isn't.

What is your HP Pavilion Power Laptop 15-cb0xx  ?  For example

             HP Pavilion Power - 15-cb012ns

Your machine should have same ports. You can't charge your machine with its USB 3.1 Type-C™ Gen 1 (Data Transfer up to 5 Gb/s, DP1.2, HP Sleep and Charge) port only. You need an USB-C port which supports power delivery and a compatible charger.

Regards.

Does not charge, I replaced battery, did not help

I am trying to get some help, but HP is useless, since my laptop is out of warranty apparently.  I am happy to pay them, if only they could actually help.

computer stopped charging, thought battery problem, so got a new battery, the battery would not charge, and after the new battery ran out of charge, the laptop is dead.  I tried updating BIOS etc. it appears to be a software problem, since the light is not coming on when I plug the charger and sometimes it used to charge before, but now it is completely dead. I think it is some BIOS something, connect to windows update, tried looking up fora, saw some mentions of such problems , but no realistic solution. I cannot buy another battery just so I can run the computer and get data etc. off before trashing the computer.

there must be another way ?    why is there no one from HP helping, I cannot be the only one with such a problem.
