Turn the laptop OFF -- and do NOT turn it back ON!!
Spilling liquid on a laptop is the second-most damaging thing you can do to it (first is dropping it on a hard floor).
Here are some tips on dealing with liquid damage: http://www.makeuseof.com/tag/you-just-spilled-water-or-coffee-on-your-laptop-heres-what-you-should-do/
However ... it's most likely that SOME damage was done, regardless of how quickly you turned off the laptop and what you did afterward. The key problems are only the surface and almost certainly, more damage was done than that.
The ONLY way to know for sure is to take or send it to an HP Service Center and pay a LOT of money for them to run full diagnostics on it, and after that, to disassemble it to repair or replace any damaged components.
And, if the motherboard is damaged, the cost of repair can easily exceed the cost of replacing the laptop -- because (as far as I know) liquid spill damage is NOT covered under the warranty.
Since you live in the U.S., here is a link to the HP Service Repair Centers:

If that link does not give you the information you need, here is the general support link:

Re: Low disk space on new HP Stream 11
You have two related issues here: lack of disk space, inability to install Updates.
In terms of the first, here are some things you can do to recover some of the disk space:
http://www.tenforums.com/tutorials/3012-disk-cleanup-open-use-windows-10-a.html
http://winaero.com/blog/how-to-clean-up-winsxs-folder-in-windows-10/
Also, the community Win10 Forums has the following suggestions:
https://www.tenforums.com/tutorials/83441-free-up-drive-space-windows-10-a.html
Finally, there is a freeware app known as Wise Disk Cleaner. I use it every day to get rid of junk files: https://www.wisecleaner.com/wise-disk-cleaner.html
-------------------------------
But those won't be enough to allow Updates. For information about that, you need to read this thread:
Re: my lap is HP Probook 4540s d when l started to setup anew window it doesn't work and give me thi
When you say "set up a new window" are you saying that you are trying to install Windows? If so, WHY are you doing that?
This issue is often due to a failing drive. So, let's check that first, because if it is failing, it would need to be replaced and there is no point then in doing anything else until we confirm that.
If your PC is new enough to support UEFI, you can use these steps to test the hard drive: http://support.hp.com/us-en/document/c00439024
If not, to check the drive you have to follow these steps:
1) Press Esc key repeatedly, several times a second, while rebooting the laptop. Do NOT hold the key down, just press it over and over.
2) Eventually, you will see an HP Startup Menu
3) Press the Function key for testing the hard drive (usually F2) and let it run.
If the drive checks out OK, then report that and I can provide you options for reinstalling Windows on your PC.
Re: Operating System
We can't help you with the BIOS password issue.
For BIOS or power-on password resets, because the password is encoded onto a chip on the motherboard, replacement of that motherboard is required. HP does not reset the BIOS password on the current motherboard.
If you are not prepared to spend the money to get HP to replace the motherboard, you would have to take the PC to a local repair facility to see if they can do it for you -- but we can not assist in that in any way.
Re: Stuck on Disk Repair Screen
That error code means your disk drive is failing and needs to be replaced.
Once you have the replacement drive, read the information below about HP Could Recovery to be used to restore your PC to working condition:
If your PC is a 2016 model or newer, you should see if you can make a bootable USB recovery drive using the HP cloud recovery tool on a working PC. The recovery drive can then be used to install Win10 and the HP drivers and utilities that originally came with your PC. Here is the link: https://support.hp.com/us-en/document/c06162205
--------------------------------
If the HP Cloud Recovery is not available or does not work, you may have to look into ordering HP Recovery Media -- which is a set of DVDs and a CD, or USB stick, that will erase the hard drive (removing all data, settings, and applications, reinstall the original OS, drivers, and some HP Utilities. You have to order these from HP; they can not be downloaded.
You can look online for Recovery Media starting with the linked paged: http://support.hp.com/us-en/drivers
Once there, input your Product name or number. On your Software and Drivers Download page, select your Operating System and and Version. Click "Update"
If HP Recovery Media is available for your machine, down near the bottom of the page, you will see an entry for Order Recovery Media-CD/DVD/USB. Click the + symbol to expand that entry and click on Order Media for details.
Or, if you prefer, you can do the same by contacting HP Customer Support:

Re: Blue screen
Hey there was no update still tried doing alt+tab when playing bf1 and (https://drive.google.com/file/d/15TDH14lTsbUrTCro6g91x5SPsfMYGMuc/view?usp=sharing)
this happened.
Windows Update and Thread Stuck Device Driver Blue Screen
I had facing to the problem that display "thread Stuck Device Driver". Due to that Reason I installed Microsoft Windows 2004 and Update all Drivers from the manufacturer sites such that HP, Realtek, Intel, AMD and etc... But the Problem was same as previous. Then I updated it Windows 20H2 and Updated drivers. Still problem was same as before.
Then I have Asked from the Community and They suggested me to Factory reset my Device using HP Recovery Tool. And then I installed drivers from only HP support assistant (Drivers Suggested by HP). After the Windows 1909 update HPSA doesn't release any driver update I have attached snapshot here. As well as Windows Update Service doesn't release Windows 2004 update to my laptop. snapshot attached here. However the still i have the same issue with that blue screen when doing graphic intensive work or CPU intensive work or Randomly. Then I have update the BIOS (version f.22) manually as well.
I have to tell that at the beginning of this I have to face to issue that when I restart my laptop I have to wait long Blank Screen (but still power indicator is on) which never end. Still I have that issue in every step that I mentioned above.

How do I go about getting the ASP.NET machine password?
Re: Blue screen
Thank you for the additional information,
Here is a guide that may help you solve your problem: https://www.thewindowsclub.com/video-memory-management-internal-blue-screen
There doesn't seem to be one single solution to the problem. These BSOD errors can be caused by software or hardware. Try the guide to see if anything helps.

Re: HP Pavilion stuck at "Preparing Automatic Repair"
@WAWOOD
I am still having issues with this. These are the steps I have taken (and the result is at the end).
- Downloaded Windows ISO file to my hard drive on my good computer
- Formatted USB drive to NTFS format
- Ran rufus 3.13.exe. This put autorun.ico and autorun.inf on the USB drive
- Moved Windows.iso from my hard drive to the USB drive
- On the broken laptop, I went into BIOS and disabled Secure Boot (per rufus instructions)
- Restarted bad computer and enter boot options
- Selected boot from USB Hard Drive (UEFI)
- The screen had random "INFO" but the last entry said [FAIL] Could not locate 'efi\boot\bootx64.efi':[14] Not Found
edited to add: regarding step #4 above - I have done some searches on rufus and it appears that at some point rufus is supposed to ask me what iso file to download but that never happens. I hit start and it never asks for an iso file.
Thank you for sticking with me through this!
Re: HP Development Company, L.P. - System - 7.0.18.1
I reviewed your post and I understand that the film scanner stopped working after a recent Windows update.
Don’t worry, I assure you I will try my best to get this sorted.
System - 7.0.18.1 is the HP 3D drive guard driver (HP Mobile Data Protection Sensor). If you wish to uninstall it, go to device manager and look for HP Mobile Data Protection Sensor and uninstall it.
Let me know how it goes and you have a great day!

Re: Windows 10 Feature Update failure
@WAWood
Once again, thank you for your comments. I suspected there might not be much in the release - like you I'm no social media fan, and don't use Cortana or OneDrive much. I was more interested in whether the ending of support for my current release (1809) would mean MS will stop providing the cumulative updates, .NET updates, security fixes and the like for that version - I did have a couple of updates the other day of that ilk, but for some reason my update history isn't showing them. Qué?
I will see how the latest WU update attempt goes - it's pending restart now. What my update history does show is that there's been a driver update (from HP) two days ago. Don't know how to work out what this was, though!
Thanks again,
Ian
HP Cloud Recovery Fails at the end of the recovery process
Hey everyone, I am trying to fix my old laptop because sometimes I need to use it when my new laptop runs out of charge for online school and I have noticed the old laptop slowed down significantly so I tried the HP Cloud recovery tool and I used it on both of my laptops because they were both acting slow. The new one succeeded doing the recovery and it went back to normal but the old one, I have tried 3 times on it and it always comes with "The recovery process failed. Please choose one of the 3 options" and the 3 options are "Save Logs", "Details" and "Retry" and whenever I retry, it goes back to the same thing. Can someone help me please?
