Well, no egg (too expensive these days).
I've already went to the Windows 7 advanced boot options and disabled the signature check. It did not help. Probably the file is corrupted and I really need to delete it.
It seems that there is a boot disk image from SecureDoc that may solve the issue (i.e. handle the PBA) but at a cost. Alternatively, according to internet, a HP boot disk image for securedoc winmagic PBA exist but a high service level subscription is needed (anyway may service expired in April).

Yes a possibilty....
They can be be downloaded (sometimes you need a licence key other than the HP OEM key)
and 'burnt'/expanded to a DVD/USB. They WONT contain appropriate HP software, like drivers etc.
But may enable a repair to be started.

Hello , while i was playing a game suddenly i pressed something that made my keyboard go insane. Im even writing this message with the on-screen keyboard, because its basically impossible to write a normal sentence with finger typing. For example pressing "d'' opens ''Windows help and support'' , pressing ''n'' comes out as ''nh6j'' , while ''a'' comes out as '' `A '' +it add's caps lock to it, etc. Some letters are working fine while others are just crazy...The things i tried so far : 1.Restarted the laptop - nothing. 2.Used Fn + Num Lock- nothing.Even tho when clicking Fn the on-screen keyboard shows that i havent pressed any button yet. Using the on-screen keyboard shows that everything is working fine when i press ''n'' it doesnt come out as ''nh6j'' like mentioned above. i'm sorry for my bad english but im begging you for help.. ;(

The only way you are going to know is to install W8.1 and find out how it works.
Before you do that, have a way to go back to W7.
If you don't have a way to go back to W7, then I wouldn't attempt the upgrade.

You didn't buy a used laptop.
For whatever reason, HP starts the warranty clock ticking the minute the PC leaves the assembly plant.
So the longer it sits in a warehouse somewhere, the less warranty time is left.

we have now had 4 elitebooks g3 820 not able to login after windows login. the latop will just log off then shutdown as soon as a user logs in.
all laptops have sophos safeguard installed.
any help would be much appricated.
you can login in at all safemode options but not the normal bootup
Have you discovered whether or not this was the result of an update or driver install or a particular service?
Have you considered a rollback to a restore point before the issue began?

I need help with drive encryption. The BitLocker keeps giving me an error with a message "The startup options on this PC are configured incorrectly. Contact your system administrator for more information".
I have attempted everything I could on my own, and finally decided to ask a support here. Here is the chonological list of event that led to current state:
* On my ZBook 15 g3, that originally came with mechancal drive, I had BitLocker enabled and working for a while now
* Sometime ago I got a system notificaiton to update the security processor (TPM) driver. As this meant decrypting the drive, and encrypting it again, I opted to postpone this
* Finally I bought an SSD and decided this was the moment to update the TPM
* I have disabled the BitLocker, cloned the drive and replaced the HDD with new SSD (everything went smooth)
* Then I have update the BIOS and TPM drivers to the newest version (also smooth)
* Afterwards I have cleared TPM and rebooted the system
* Currently TPM status is - Attestation: Not Ready, Storage: Ready
Last thing to be noted, as this is requirement from BitLocker, there are at least two partitions on the noted SSD.
I hope someone has an advice on how to proceed on, thanks!
