Re: USB 3.0 Driver for 570-p026 on Windows 7

Hi:

HP has retired support for the dv6000 model series, so there are no more support pages.

Your model has the Intel processor and nVidia graphics, correct?

Please let me know what operating system you need the drivers for, so I can search HP's FTP site for them.

There may be some drivers still on the site, but no one page to find them on.

,

Thank you for posting on HP Support Forums. It is a great place to find the help you need, from other users, HP experts, and other support personnel. I see from your post that you are having issues related to Battery not working on your HP notebook. Don't worry I'll do my best to help you with this.

Splendid effort and fabulous description of the issue before posting. Kudos to you on that score.  You are a valued HP customer and it is paramount to assist you here. I take it as a privilege to share this platform with you.

As you have mentioned in your post that you have already changed the charging port as well as the battery and more over you have updated the Bios and still having the issue with the battery.

This looks like a possible hardware failure with the PC. Before, you come to any conclusion, I would suggest you try these steps here:

HP Notebook PCs - Testing and Calibrating the Battery (Windows 10)

HP Notebook PCs - Using and Testing the AC Power Adapter

Next thing, I would suggest here is to run the test on the battery from F2.(Click on Component test - Scroll down to Power)

Please remember to capture the failure ID for further assistance.

If the issue persists, Check this: I'm sending out a Private message with the information you need to get this sorted,

Please check your Private message icon on the upper right corner of your HP Forums profile

Next, to your profile Name, you should see a little blue envelope, please click on it

Keep me posted,

that said, If the information I've provided was helpful,

give us some reinforcement by clicking the solution and kudos buttons,

that'll help us and others see that we've got the answers!

Good Luck.

Laptop not turning on

Laptop was working completely fine, I closed it without locking it, and now it is in a constant cycle of trying to turn on. It makes a Little click noise when it tries to. I pushed the on button once and it stays on for a second without the screen showing anything then turns off for two seconds and repeats.

Please edit your post to delete your serial number and e-mail address if the moderators do not do so first - it is against the Rules of Participation to post personally identifying information in the forums.

Laptop keyboards are not spared at the component level - they are replaced as an entire unit (the only keyboards that are spared at the component level are many keyboards that use mechanical keyswitches). Indeed, the Maintenance and Service Guide for your system shows that, as on many modern notebooks, the keyboard and top cover are replaced as an assembly. It is quite an extensive strip down and rebuild to change the keyboard - you entirely dismantle the bottom half of the computer, then rebuild the system on a new top cover and keyboard assembly.

I would talk to HP in your country about whether they will cover this repair under your warranty. It seems hard to classify your failure as accidental damage, so I hope they will accept your system for warranty service.

You're very welcome.

Your model is not supported by HP for W7, so you have to use the Vista drivers for most of the devices.

I am going to post the links to most of the drivers you need to get it running right.

There may be some things left that need drivers, so if there are, please use this guide to post the hardware ID's for any remaining devices that need drivers.

https://www.howtogeek.com/193798/how-to-find-drivers-for-unknown-devices-in-the-device-manager/

Here we go...

Chipset installation utility:  Install this driver first and restart the PC.

https://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp39001-39500/sp39317.exe

Graphics:  You will have to manually install this driver as follows.

Download and run this graphics driver.  You will most likely get an unsupported operating system error.

ftp://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp38001-38500/sp38280.exe

Close out of any error windows.

Go to the device manager and click on the Video Controller needing the driver (it may also be listed as a Standard VGA Adapter under the Display Adapters device manager category).

Click on the driver tab for whichever device you have.   Click on Update Driver.

Select the Browse my computer for driver software option and browse to the driver folder that was created when you ran the file.  That folder will be located in C:\SWSetup\sp38280.

Make sure the Include Subfolders box is checked, and the driver should install.  Then restart the PC.

Audio:

If your notebook has the optional bluetooth module...

No updates. I also just found a post where someone had the same isssue, and the person who helped them said that uninstalling + reinstalling SupportAssist should fix that. Should I try it?

Not sure why it doesn't work for you. I just tried it again and got Build ID and Img_desc 1 and 2.

I just got the purple HP steam lap top not even a week ago and while on word when I was typing I noticed the screen was blinking just quickly but the more or faster I typed the more it happened. I haven’t noticed it as often when I’m not typing and I’m just looking through the internet but I need to know if this a common problem that I can fix myself or if I need to send this back.

Thank you for your help in advance

hard drive failed, do i need my activation key

I bought a hp pavillion 17 e020us in 2013 and it worked great up until about a week ago.  Unfortunately, the hard drive has failed and needs to be replaced. I'm weighing the options of putting in a new hard drive in the laptop against just buying a new laptop.  I do like the laptop and would prefer to keep it -  I did upgrade to windows 10 at some point in time ( i think it came with 8.1 originally).  My question is do i need the activation key to reinstall windows once i buy the hard drive, and if so, how would i go about that?

Hi:

You can clean install W10 for free at any time by using the Media Creation Tool at the link below.

Create a USB (you need an 8 GB USB flash drive) installation flash drive.

https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/software-download/windows10

Note:  Since your notebook originally came with W8/8.1, and you upgraded it to W10 during the free upgrade period, then if you are asked to enter a product key, check the 'Skip' box, and W10 will install and automatically activate once you are connected to the internet.

Then install the drivers and available software you need from the your PC's support page.

Are you using the license key from the Microsoft COA attached to bottom of laptop? May be in the hdd compartment.

The Maintenance and Service Guide for 15-ap012dx says this system uses a 45W power adapter with a 4.5mm plug. The HP 45W Smart AC Adapter should be an appropriate replacement - that's part number H6Y88AA. At your discretion you can use a larger capacity charger - a 65W unit should be perfectly OK. Make sure you do not buy a USB-C charger, as that will probably not work with your system.

Be careful when buying power adapters on Amazon; I recommend limiting yourself to products sold by Amazon themselves only. There are some Marketplaces sellers that are honest and others that try selling cheap fakes whilst pretending that they are original product. Some of these fakes are poorly designed and potentially dangerous.

Yes. Microsoft is saying the key is correct but it's blocked by manufacturer.
