Re: regarding international warrenty
Hi:
The international warranty is only good if that exact same model is sold and supported in India.
Below is the link to the HP international warranty FAQ's.
Laptop only charges when lid is closed
When the lid is open the computer does not charge.

Re: regarding international warrenty
You're very welcome.
This is a peer to peer forum.
I do not work for or represent HP, and we are not authorized to discuss specific warranty terms.
So, I suggest if you are now in India, that you contact HP support in India and address your questions to them.
Re: sp90139.exe

Let me know. :)
My laptop errors during recovery
My laptop cannot complete the recovery process because something goes wrong.
It tells me to save the logs, so I did.

Re: My laptop errors during recovery
Hi:
Unfortunately, I wouldn't be able to specifically help you with those errors or why the HP recovery process isn't working, but you can always clean install W10 at any time by using the media creation tool at the link below.
Create a USB (you need an 8 GB USB flash drive) installation flash drive.
https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/software-download/windows10
The software will work with the W10 product key in the BIOS, and automatically activate once you are connected to the internet.
Note: If your notebook originally came with W8.1, and you upgraded it to W10 during the free upgrade period, then if you are asked to enter a product key, check the 'Skip' box, and W10 will install and automatically activate once you are connected to the internet.
Then install the drivers and available software you need from the your PC's support page.
Re: ProductConfig 30% CPU usage
It is great to have you back and your patience is greatly appreciated.
Use HP Support Assistant to automatically install computer updates, such as updated drivers, system updates, and useful utilities.
Click My devices in the top menu, and then click Updates in the My PC or My notebook pane.
Click Check for updates and messages to scan for new updates.
Review the list of updates. Updates with a yellow information icon are recommended. Updates with a blue information icon are optional.
Click the update name for a description, version number, and file size.
Select the box next to any updates you want to install, and then click Download and install.
Perform any other update management actions as needed.
Postpone an update: Click Remind me, and then select a time preference.
Delete an available update: Click the Delete icon
to remove the update from the list and record it in the action log.
Review updates status: Click Action log below the list to view installed, postponed, or deleted updates.
Let me know how it goes and you have a great day!
If you wish to show appreciation for my efforts, mark my post as Accept as Solution.Your feedback counts!
Cheers!
forgot password from BIOS hp 8540w
Hi. I can not enter bios cause i forgot my password. But i can boot with windows, just today i want to change some options in bios, and couldnt do this cause i don`t forgot password. How i can restore it?
Re: forgot password from BIOS hp 8540w
Contact HP and they should be able to send you a customized SMC.bin file which you can use at boot to reset the password.
Phone >> http://www8.hp.com/us/en/contact-hp/ww-phone-assist.html
When talking to the HP rep ask them to escalate your service request.
Or download these files.
https://www.dropbox.com/sh/zu4kdgxm052l87d/AAAMi-kfX4AVH8oTCbsOM4X9a?dl=0
Insert clean USB flash drive.
Then run USB Image tool.
Choose the flash drive then click on RESTORE.
After restore remove flash drive.
Insert flash drive into locked laptop and boot. ”If HDD is installed remove before booting.”
At C:\OUTPUT type CD.. “Then hit enter”
Type HPBR “Then hit enter”
First thing is to save your settings.
Select #3 re-program.
Press “S” to save system information.
Type HPBR and hit enter.
Select “FIRST RUN”
Then select model.
After reboot repeat same as above but this time SELECT “SECOND RUN”

Re: HP Recovery Manager Back Up Disks Issue
Thank you for reaching out to us on HP Support Forums! I see from your post you are having issues restoring the files from the backup disc. Don't worry I'll do my best to help you with this.
To provide you with an accurate solution, I'll need a few more details:
Have you tried to remove the disc, clean it and then try to check if that helps?
Have you checked for file permissions?
In the meantime, let's try these steps here:
Remove the disc from the drive, clean the disc using a soft cloth. Once done, Insert the disc and then try to follow the procedure and check if that drive reads the disc or it gets stuck.
I have found a wonderful document which should help you with this issue - HP PCs - Restoring Files that Were Backed Up Using HP Recovery Manager (Windows 10, 8)
If for some reason, the disc still gets stuck, then I believe the backup was not successful.
Please let me know if this resolves the issue, or if you require further assistance!
Let me know if those steps worked for you.
If they did, that’s awesome!
Give us some reinforcement by clicking the solution and kudos buttons,
That’ll help us and others see that we’ve got the answers!
Good Luck.

Thanks for your reply. I have tried using PartSurfer to search for FeatureByte information using a serial number. But it does not appear to provide that information. Only individual part information.

key broken
I own this laptop under warranty for another 2 months. The key of the point (.) (;) has suddenly been broken and I can't fix it with the white plastic part. I think that the last one is ok.
How can I solve this problem? Is it possible to have a new key for the keyboard?
Thank you in advance.

Re: Laptop Won't Charge above a Certain Percent
This computer model was introduced in September 2016.
The battery is aging (getting old) -- the performance will not be that of a new battery.
The battery might benefit from calibration.
More likely, it is time to replace the battery.
