Yes, it appears the drive has failed since you got that message.
You can try the method I posted to reinstall W8.1 and see if it works on the failed HDD.
I doubt it will, but you have nothing to lose by giving it a try.
Hi CherlyG:
I greatly appreciate your attempt to help. It looks like the solution, but it didn't work.
I was able to use F11 to enter the Windows Recovery Environment, and tried to do a system restore and Refresh. In both cases, they ask me to select the Windows10 OS, before running these programs. The results were the same. I was not able to run these programs under Windows 10.
I believe you are in the right direction. Maybe, i need to do a system restore or PC refresh under the safe mode. In which, I have never tried before.
If you have other suggestions, I greatly apprecaite your help.
I want to install Windows 7 on my Pavilion 570-p026, but I found out that it was a kaby lake system and doesn't have USB 3.0 drivers from HP. After looking on YouTube, I saw a video on how to make it work by using Intel eXtensible host controller that apparently doesn't use my chipset nor series. Is there any way for me to install Windows 7 or is it possible to use incompatible drivers?

I am currently installing the software and setting it up and then I am going to be making an image. I will test it out further, but I think I will be more in the lines of getting a faster one just to be safe. Will see.
Samehere!
Im planning to buy a 500 Gig / 1TB drive tomorrow as a spare just incase ...... do you recommend that
Unfortunately vendors won't write/develope more Windows 7, 8 and 8.1 drivers for Intel Gen 7 (and similar for AMD) and later processors. You have to use Windows 10.
Regards.
Thank you for responding,
It's great to have you back ;)

Good Luck. :)
There is no requirement. My laptop is about 2 versions behind right now. Like I mentioned above- If you don't feel you need it or it doesn't address a problem you are having...
It sounds like you are going to need to do a System Recovery from F11 to completely reinstall fresh.
Hello, I did the factory reset I mentioned and It didnt fix anything as I was excepting.
About your suggestions I finished doing the test and all of them were marked as "Passed" I did them more than a few times, I belive I tried each test from 4 to 6 times just to make sure and all of them seemed to always give "Passed" as a result except for one single test which was only gave me a different result once here is the picture as I wanst sure how to save the info and in a better way.
This is the result I would always get except for that one time.
One thing I do have to mention is that whenever I did the test they would take less than a minute even less than 30 seconds which was something that I felt was strange and the reason why I decided to run each test more than one time, is this normal?
One thign I also feel like I should add is that the range in which both problems (laptop abruptly turning itself off without even saving windows and the battery light color and icon changing when it shouldnt) seem to happen within the 18 and 35% of the battery level.
Also according to what you told me of what the colors of the light means that means that the laptop lights seem to change from its charing to its already fully charge however the battery icon I see on windows does something similar yet different instead of showing the icon as if it was already charge it shows the icon as if it wasnt charging.
Could the results I got be the reason why these problems are happening?

To answer the questions you made me:
-Im not entirely sure can't really give a answer right now as I have reasons to belive it does aswell as reasons to say it doesnt.
-I don't have another charger that is compatible so I havent been able to try with a different one.
Yes, if you need that much space, I would recommend it.
If you don't need that much space you might want to consider getting a solid state drive.
They run much faster than a mechanical hard drive and have a longer lifespan.
You can get a 240 GB SSD pretty cheap nowadays.
I have this one in one of my HP notebooks...
An easier solution would be to change the default System language:
Or,When installing delete both partitions. Select each and click delete icon at bottom of window. That will leave you with unallocated space to install Windows on.
Hi,
If you like a challenge, you should be able to install W7 on your PC by following the guidance at the link below...This method should also work on PC's with the Kaby Lake chipsets too.
Order Recovery Media from HP which will reinstall the original OS and all sofware/drivers.
What about USB 3.0 driver. Could I use the incompatible extensible host controller from intel?
Welcome to the HP Forums!
Thank you for posting your query on this forum, it's a great place to find answers.
Don’t worry, I assure you I will try my best to get this sorted.
I recommend you download and install HP support assistant from the below link and install all the updates and check whether the issue is resolved.
If you continue to face the issue, I recommend you follow the below steps and disable the apps/programs running in startup one by one and test.
Let me know how it goes and you have a great day!

My laptop has recently been acting up and saying "plugged in not charging" but itll switch back and forth between charging and plugged in, not charging. If I leave it in for a long time it will eventually charge up. I've had the charging port, and the battery both replaced to no luck along with attempting to update the BIOs and using the device management method. Is there any other ways to potentially fix this.
It appears that your hard drive has failed or is about to fail.
