Re: Device Driver For Windows 7 32 bit

BIOS password reset

Hi,

Can you assist with a BIOS password reset on a HP probook 6570b?

serial number: 5cb2350bjx

uuid:7113c82d24f3e1118122d4c8720100ff

Thanks in Advance.

Re: BIOS password reset

For that model you will need to contact HP in your region and they should be able to send you a customized SMC.bin file which you can use at boot to reset the password.

Phone >> http://www8.hp.com/us/en/contact-hp/ww-phone-assist.html

When talking to the HP rep ask them to escalate your service request.

Just to note, don't try removing the RTC battery.  It won't remove the password, but it will reset the clock - as smc files are time coded, a large disparity between the system clock and the time encoded in the smc will cause it to fail.

Obtaining W10 Pro 64 Bit Installation Media for HP Probook 470 G5

I need HP installation media for my HP Probook 470 G5. HP Support Drivers & Download URL states there is no software available. The HP web URL instructions for obtaining recovery installation media state to go to HP Support Drivers & Download. I need the Windows 10 Professional 64 Bit HP install media disks.  The very poor HP customer support site also has no apparent Live Chat, no text e-mail contact, and no fill-in-the-box HP support submit a question to be replied to by HP support folks.

Re: Obtaining W10 Pro 64 Bit Installation Media for HP Probook 470 G5

Hi,

Basically you have two "fast" options

You can use the cloud recovery client to create a USB with Windows 10 pro on it from HP. So go to the software and driver page of your model and under heading "Software-Restore CD" download the "Cloud recovery client". You can also do this on another PC if yours does not boot (you will need serial number)

Here is where you can download:

https://support.hp.com/us-en/drivers/selfservice/hp-probook-470-g5-notebook-pc/17047161

Here is HP support page showing how to use cloud recovery client:

https://support.hp.com/us-en/document/c05115630

The other option is download the media creation tool from Microsoft and create a bootable USB with Windows 10 Pro on it. Here is the link to where you can download and there is explanation from Microsoft on the page how to create the media:

https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/software-download/windows10

Naturally in this case there will be no HP software or drivers on the media.

Let me know if you need further help,

David

Re: Speakers on HP Pavilion 14" 14-AL061NR only make popping noise. No other sounds.

Welcome to HP Forums,

The Riddle_Decipher is at your service!

Your diagnosis is right on spot, the fact that headphones and the TV via HDMI works fine whereas the inbuilt speakers have excessive popping noises, proves that this is indeed a hardware malfunction and installing generic drivers as you have, normally wouldn't make a difference, I can only assume it's an intermittent issue and the best way to solve it, is mentioned on my private message to help you get this sorted:

Re: Can't Log In To Windows

Thank you for joining HP Forums.

I'll be glad to help you :)

As I understand, you're unable to sign into Windows,

No worries, as I'll be glad to help you, that said, I'll need a few more details to dissect your concern & provide an accurate solution:

What is the product number of your device? Use this link to find it: http://support.hp.com/us-en/document/c03754824

(Ensure you do not share any of your personal information such as serial, phone number, email ID, etc...).

What is the operating system on the PC?

What is the error message while trying to log in?

When was the last time it worked fine?

Were there any hardware/software changes made?

Once I have the information, I'll help you further with troubleshooting steps,

Keep me posted!

Cheers :)

Re: What is the maximum RAM for an HP Notebook - 15-ay049ne?

First of all thank you Huffer,
Now the memory of my pc is 4gb (but not sure if 1 module or 2 modules 2gb), if I upgarde to 8 or 16 gb this action will not affect the performance of my pc? Just improve it, right?

Re: HP Pavilion laptop (Win 8.1) won’t start up, Recovery and factory reset failed

Welcome to the HP Forums,

We'll be with you, until it's all sorted.

You've performed the hardware test and it resulted with the failure ID – RLGBKS-79097A-MFPV7F-60TD03

Here's what the ID represents: 303

Hard Disk 1 Full Test Failure

You will need to get the hard drive replaced, this can be done either using the HP Part store, Or call the HP Phone Support for a repair service.

If the issue occurred after an accident (such as dropping it on the floor, etc.) there could be an additional charges in such cases to get the computer repaired via HP service centers.

You could purchase the part from HP, use the HP Parts surfer to identify the part: Click here

And order it via the HP Parts store: Click here

Refer to my private message for an alternate option to fix your device:

Welcome to HP Support Forums. A really great platform for posting all your questions and finding solutions.

Have you attempted the troubleshooting steps suggested by  Riddle_Decipher in the previous Post?

I suggest you run a Test on the Keyboard to confirm the Hardware Functionality

- Hold the power button for at least five seconds to turn off the computer.
- Turn on the computer and immediately press Esc repeatedly, about once every second.
- When the menu appears, press the F2 key.
- On the main menu, click Component Tests and Keyboard

Keep me posted on the outcome of the Test

Thank you 😊

Re: Power on Code 74451286

Hi:

Restart the PC, and enter this unlock passcode...

61539808

My Laptop won’t let me restore to factory

So... I’ve tried to restore, reset, and factory reset my lap top and it doesn’t work... nothing happens and I get a message that says “ no changes have been applied”
And “cannot reset”.

The reason I want to restore is because a few months ago I lost my wifi transmitting and receiving function, and the only way I can connect to the internet is via LAN.

Also a few days ago my sound/ speaker drivers went missing and now there is no sound.i want to restore to default to see if this can fix my issue.

Re: www.HP/go/techcenter/startup

,

I am glad that it worked. As   is out for the day, I am responding on his behalf.
