It may break, it is unreliable and it may fry the motherboard
I would get the original HP AC adapter compatible with the notebook

All,
My wife's laptop came up with the below error message one evening after a forced reboot.
"Boot Device Not Found
Please install an operating system on your hard disk
hard disk (3F0)"
To me, this would normally indicate that the boot order has changed and cannot find the hard drive to boot to.
I switched off the device and powered back on and roughly took 10-15 minutes to show the same screen again. Very odd.
Now knowing when ever I do anything it will take 15 minutes to load. I first thought it was the screen and connected it to an external monitor but doesnt do anything.
When I got back to this screen I pressed F2 for System Diagnotics. It passes the Memory test but erros with "No Hard Drive Found" when running a Hard drive test.
I go down the troubleshooting road of removing the battery and CMOS battery to fully power down and power up again, no avail.
i hold down the Powerbutton for 30 seconds to no avail.
I managed to get to the BIOS which was extremely limited and not what I was used to , it was an old school BIOS and not UEFI. anyway I enabled Legacy boot in case that did anything and not when I power cycle I get the below:
"press esc to access startup menu"
This will be on this screen for a good 20 minutes before continuing with any Function Key.
I managed to boot to a USB stick with Windows 10 DaRT and open up a command prompt. If I run a disk part
I only get the USB stick listed.
Not looking good for the SSD, if I remove the SSD it still shows the "Boot Device Not Found, Please install an operating system on your hard disk" error but thats because no hard drive is in it and it is alot faster to boot and navigate round.
Has anyone had this experience? The warrenty exired 4 days ago (typical) and Ive only had this for a year.
i bought a laptop on ebay and there is an invalid copy of windows on the laptop ho do i go about getting the factory software

Why does my HP ENVY 15 x360, Model U110-DX always seem to hibernate as soon as I walk away? When I am right in front of it there doesn't seem to be an issue. I have tried changing all the settings I can find. Nothing works.
Thanks...sorry for delay responding.
I'll have to hold a bit on the MBRGPT thing....will look into.
The laptop seems to be fine.
About the boot...thanks fot the MS boot suggestion. What I don't understand is 1) I never had to worry about preparing the new disk for boot status and 2) the clone process says that it will delete everything that is on the disk before copying which would erase any boot info....what am I missing about the boot prep?
Thanks again, Bruce
Hi:
I don't see that HP sells recovery media for your model, so you would have to contact HP customer support for the country you live in at the link below, and see if you can order recovery media by phone.
http://www8.hp.com/us/en/contact-hp/ww-contact-us.html
If your notebook is unusable right now, you should be able to clean install W10 by using the Media Creation Tool at the link below to reinstall windows.
The product specs page shows that your notebook came with W10 Home Single Language 64 bit.
https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/software-download/windows10
The tool will allow you to make a bootable USB installation flash drive, or save an ISO file which you can later burn to a DVD using your DVD burning program's burn ISO file option.
The software will automatically work with the W10 Pro product key in your notebook's BIOS.
Then after W10 has finished installing, go to your notebook's support page to install the drivers and available software you need.

Hi:
Installing the Intel Management Engine Interface driver should install those devices...
This package provides the Intel Management Engine Interface (MEI) Driver for the supported notebook models and operating systems. The Intel Management Engine Interface enables communication between the host operating system and the Intel Management Engine firmware.

Hello,
Can anyone please guide me? I am having a problem when installing Windows 7 on my laptop.
I think it all started last summer. I remember when I turned my laptop on, a blue screen appeared during startup with a message "BIOS not ACPI compliant", as I recall. I tried reinstalling windows but no use. Then I installed windows 10, as I found out the problem was in an outdated BIOS. That fixed the problem.
However, now I really hate 10 and want to switch back to 7, because 10 loves to munch on my poor RAM. And when I try to install windows 7, the same old blue screen appeares. A dead end. It doesn't let me go any further.
My BIOS is up-to-date (I'm sure of that) and I know my laptop can handle 7 (I've had it since I bought this computer years ago). I've been looking for any kind of information and cant find the solution I need.
unable to remove virus, plan to replace hard drive. Do not have system recovery disc

Hello, so I own HP envy notebook which is not very powerful, but should be able to run few years older games without a problem (pic of specs. attached)
So I get pretty bad stutter playing GTA 5 and started to look for solution to this. What I noticed in task manager is that game is using only 3.8GB of RAM but percentage of RAM is also 98%. So my windows is using only 4GB out of 8GB, any advice on why is that and if it is possible to change that?
Also what I have learned so far 4GB of my RAM is allocated to my intergrated videocard. It is way too much for me to use, is it possible to change that?
To better assist you, we would need the exact model number or product number of your laptop/desktop???
