PNP DETECTED FATAL ERROR
PNP DETECTED FATAL ERROR
Hello,
What are idle CPU temperatures on a new HP Omen 17? On my it is 50-60C which I don't think it's normal. Fan is constantly spinning and making a louder noise than most of the laptops i worked on and it's really irritating. Sometimes when I'm watching youtube the temperatures jump up to 70C for a couple of seconds and the fan starts spinning on max rpm. Any suggestions?
Thanks,
SyM1
Hello i have HP MINI 100e

hi , there .. any solution to this ??? ,,,,, can someone pls provide alternation of solving this instead of notebook reset or reinstalling windows ... ty ..
I still suffer from this problem and I have tried to replace the batterie and even tried to use the laptop only with the charger and took off the battrie but still having the problem.
Regards
The following solution after contact with HP support center:
Change the driver for the Intel HD Graphics 530 in the device manager
Use following driver:
http://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp79001-79500/sp79322.exe
This should fix the problem
After unchecking Fast Startup I did a Power on traditional start up and the Windows Music was working. In past I only heard the welcome music when I did a manual Restart.
Now I will leave laptop running for the rest of today (only 4 am here) to see if the rebooting has been resolved
many thanks Ike8120, fingers crossed.
As for your 2nd suggestion to find hidden Administrator . . . not sure i have the courage to do that.

Also if you haven't done so make sure your BIOS has the latest update from HP.
I also made changes to my power settings based on the information from this forum and other sites.
I hope it works for you.
Hi
Why disable secure boot if W10 is best served with that, and why not re-instate it?
Debian seems the strongest candidate and then FreeBSD (a unix).
You have an 8 core CPU and a special/rarified GPU so maybe Linux drivers etc are yet to catch up.
There seems to be no Drivers on the Software page, no BIOS update even.
Updates are via the Microsoft Windows Update/Store I believe.
(http://h10032.www1.hp.com/ctg/Manual/c05865213) Manual.
Securely erasing the BIOS would in my view give a PW (paperweight) rather than a PC (personalcomputer).
Turn on/restart computer, quickly press ESC, and then press F10 to access BIOS.
Updated versions of Setup Utility (BIOS) are available through Windows updates.
When an update is available,it is automatically downloaded and installed.
If you tried Opensuse Leap and then
xzcat [image].raw.xz | dd bs=4M of=/dev/sdX iflag=fullblock oflag=direct; sync
rather than a Tumbleweed .iso the result may have been different. You could put the image directly onto the Hard Disk in its own partition and tried an install from there.
So it seems that I can offer no help at this stage.
Hi
Hopefully a MOD will escalate this for you.
Why disable secure boot if W10 is best served with that, and why not re-instate it?
Is recommended for installing Linux - but regardless nothing boots up externally (Linux or Windows) with Secure Boot enabled/disabled.
Debian seems the strongest candidate and then FreeBSD (a unix).
You have an 8 core CPU and a special/rarified GPU so maybe Linux drivers etc are yet to catch up.
But all distros crash without even getting to the first menu screen, including Windows(!), when booted from external USB/DVD-ROM, so it's clearly an issue with the bios/firmware and appears to be a wider issue affecting the Envy series in general.

Exactly - no drivers - nothing.
Securely erasing the BIOS would in my view give a PW (paperweight) rather than a PC (personalcomputer).
The secure erase option in the BIOS is for securely erasing the harddrive - not the BIOS - hence erasing any sensitive data when, say, passing on a machine to a new owner.
Updated versions of Setup Utility (BIOS) are available through Windows updates.
When an update is available,it is automatically downloaded and installed.
The main bios/firmware that is responsible for booting up operating systems in the first place is what's at fault here. Even with the latest version of Windows 10 Pro installed it still would not allow anything to boot up - would require HP drivers to fix if it's not a hardware fault.
You could put the image directly onto the Hard Disk in its own partition and tried an install from there.
Have tried every method imaginable, but so far NOTHING can boot up on this HP, so will be returning to the shop.
Good afternoon
I bought a gaming laptop with lot of ''power'' because Im a Vj (Video Dj). One of the things I have to do in order for all software and hardware to work in harmony is the so called optimization. In this optimization procedure Im obliged to shut down any unnecessary applications running. Video processing requires a lot of resources and Im really wondering which ones are not essential for my Windows to run smoothly. HP has a lot of applications running in the task manager. Can you please give me a couple of tips on which of those apps I can disable and how I can disable them from startup.
Im using Serato Video software for the videos
Thanks in advance
That the laptop model dv7 shows the following phrase: no bootable device - insert boot disk I want your help to solve this problem and thank you very much. 0 email drimmaddakka@gmail.com
Hi!
I understand you have issue booting into your PC.
Don't worry I'll try to help you out.
Did you make any software or hardware changes on your PC?
Are you able to boot into BIOS on your PC?
Have you tried checking with a different adapter?
Have you tried installing the operating system using the recovery discs?
Please provide the product number of your PC to assist you better.
As you mentioned when you power on your PC you see a black screen with HP logo on it.
Try the steps recommended below.
To perform a power reset on a laptop with a sealed or non-removable battery, use the following steps:
Turn off the computer.
Remove the computer from any port replicator or docking station.
Disconnect all external connected peripheral devices such as USB storage devices, external displays, and printers.
Unplug the AC adapter from the computer.
For most laptops, press and hold the Power button for 15 seconds to reset.
Plug the AC adapter back into the laptop computer, but do not connect any of the peripheral devices.
Press the Power button to turn on the computer.
If a startup menu opens, use the arrow keys to select Start Windows Normally, and then press the Enter key.
After Windows opens, reconnect each peripheral device that was disconnected, one device at a time, until all devices are reconnected.
Your laptop has been reset. After a power reset, it is a good idea to run Windows Update and HP Support Assistant to update all device drivers. See Updating Drivers and Software with Windows Update (Windows 10, 8) and Using HP Support Assistant (Windows 10, 8, 7) for more information.
Try restoring the BIOS to default and check if it helps.
1. Turn off the computer and wait five seconds.
2. Press the Power button to start the computer and repeatedly press the F10 key to enter the BIOS setup menu.
3. On the BIOS Setup screen, press F9 to select and load the BIOS Setup Default settings.
4. Press F10 to Save and Exit.
5. Use the arrow keys to select Yes, then press Enter when asked Exit Saving Changes?
6. Follow the prompts to restart your computer.

Hi!
I understand your PC is running at 50-60c due to which the fan is spinning constantly and make a loud noise.
Don't worry I'll try to help you out.
Did you make any software or hardware changes on your laptop?
Are you using any high-end application or playing a graphic oriented game on your PC?
Please provide the product number of your PC.
As you mentioned your PC is running at 50-60c due to which the fan is spinning constantly and make a loud noise.
If you Gaming or using any high end appliation the PC will raise the laptop temperature and if the vents are restricted that will increase the heat more. So if this laptop hasn't had the vents cleaned out for sometime this could result in Thermal overload and causing your laptop to shut down and worse case damage the system to point it no longer works.
Try updating the BIOS and Thermal framework client driver and check if it helps.
Try updating the drivers on your PC using HP support assistant.
Refer this article to know more information about using HP support assistant.
To properly ventilate the computer, allow at least 7.6 cm (3 in) of clearance on the left side
of the computer. The computer uses an electric fan for ventilation. The fan is controlled by a temperature
sensor and is designed to turn on automatically when high-temperature conditions exist. These conditions
are affected by high external temperatures, system power consumption, power management/battery
conservation configurations, battery fast charging, and software requirements. Exhaust air is displaced
through the ventilation grill located on the left side of the computer.
Also, Try performing the following ts steps:
1 - Right-click on any open space on your computer's taskbar.
2 -Select "Task Manager" and press "Enter."
3 -Select "View" from the Taskbar Manager's pull-down menu. If more than one computer is connected to your network, notice the graphs for all CPUs. Select "One Graph Per CPU." This will help determine which computers are using more processing time.
4 -Go to the "Applications" tab. Because this tab shows open programs in real time, you will be able to see exactly when a program has been opened and closed at the time that it occurs. Identify and close selected programs by highlighting each one separately and clicking on "End Task" to free up processing time. (Important: Make sure all work is saved prior to closing any programs.)
5 -Go to the "Processes" tab and view them, but do not delete any of them unless absolutely necessary. All of the hidden system processes and programs are listed here. (Note: See Warnings section.)
6 -Set your computer's cooling fan to "Auto." Next, slide the Processing Speed scale to "3-4." Slide the Cooling Method scale to the middle of the range. These settings will slow down the CPU when needed
Also, Hit Win Key + R
Type in “Regedit” and then hit Enter.
Go to ‘HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Session Manager\Memory Management’
Find ‘ClearPageFileAtShutDown’ and change its value to 1
Restart the computer

Sorry Robert, I assume your question is for HP, I'm just a user that had this problem back last year ans as you see, The_Fossette from HP solved it. If nobody responds to you, maybe you should generate your question as a NEW problem rather than a reply to mine. Good luck
