Since the notebook is in GPT type partition an installation of Linux will involve disabling secure boot and enabling Legacy support in the BIOS. 

 

You have been unable to install another  operating system because you have not changed the correct settings in BIOS.

 

I highly recommend that you do a bit of reading  on GPT and UEFI settings in regard to Linux (Ubuntu or another) here. There is a tutorial at the Blog that I provided a link to that should help you.

I also have same problem,so I installed same version of windows ,but it ain't work in any way...so you have to order hp recovery media from hp..

How I solved this problem......

 

My laptop was not booting and the CAPS lock was blinking with blink code 1 (CPU not functional)

I disassembled the laptop and took out the motherboard. I removed the heat sink to expose the processor/graphics card.

I found that the thermal paste had, over time, dispersed itself from the centre of the processsor and worked its way to the outside. There was no thermal paste in the centre. Futhermore, the conductive thermal paste had covered the chips of the processor and I concluded that this is the problem, as the thermal paste would be shorting out the chips. 

 

I got a brand new toothbrush and scrubbed lightly at the thermal paste until the chips were completely clean and free of the thermal paste. I then re-applied new thermal paste and re-assembled my laptop.

 

It started up 1st time and also doubled the speed of the laptop. Also, the fan is running completely silently (after cleaning chassis and fan area.

 

I hope this helps someone who is just about to give up on their trusty laptop, as I was!

The synaptics touchpad driveris the one that controls your touchpad.

 

If you use an external mouse and never intend to use your touchpad then yes, it's totally useless to you :smileyhappy:

Sir,

I have installed all the HP drivers on my HP 1000.

 

But, so many program crashed now.

Adobe Flash Player ver. 13 crashed.

Game (Starcraft) crashed.

Yahoo!Messenger crashed.

 

Could somebody help me?

There is actually such a featuyre in windows.

 

  1. Open the Windows File Explorer
  2. In the search box, in the top right corner of the window type datemodified:
  3. After datemodified: has been typed the "Select a date or date range" window will appear, select the date or date range for when you believe the file was last modified.
  4. Depending on the dates this search may take a few seconds to a minute to complete.

Please let me know how it works

Need a license key Windows7 preinstalled on the laptop HP ProBook 4545s (2CE31237DL). I can not activate Windows7 after warranty replacement hard drive, due to lack of a license key. When buying a laptop with preinstalled Windows7 key was nowhere to be found. It was not on the notebook or on the box. Restoring the drive Windows7 was also absent. Included were two drives for Windows8. I ask you to provide a license key Windows7, which was preinstalled on the HP ProBook 4545s laptop with a serial number 2CE31237DL, for its activation.

hi there, my laptop HP 2000 Notebook PC is not functioning well,it came out in W8 os  i am planning to reformat it but this time i will use W7. i tried to do it with my usb flash drive but nothing seems to be working i cant get to the W7 installation screen..pls help

Missing Disk Drive

On my laptop it says that it's a Pavilion dv9500, but when I have the HP website look up the information it says that it's a Pavilion dv9628. I'm missing my disk drive and I can't  find it anywhere on my computer, nor can I run any disks. Can someone help me please.

I'm using Avast Free version and still experiencing the BSOD. I think this problem is more likely to be related to hardware drivers (wireless, bluetooth and graphics are the usual suspects according to my recent experience.)

Well, I guess we won't know until MS or HP would answer =\

 

As for now - there are some success stories on MS community, but noone could provide bulletproof solution.

Hi,

I'm having same problem with HP Client Security version 8.3.1.1714 running on Windows 8.1 Update 1 x64.

Computer is an HP Probook 470 G1 P/N E9Y71EA.

For every website with a user/password form Password Manager appears on the page.
The checkbox "Never for this site" often does nothing and I still get the popup more than once per site.

I've already opened Client Security, gone to
Home > Password Manager > Settings and disabled the checkbox "Ask to add credentials on access pages" (or similar, I'm translating the only checkbox present).

Please do not redirect this thread on commercial forums. No one is talking about Client Security there.
