dual boot win 8 and 7
Hi,
I got a now Envy 15 and I'd like to have win 7 for operating some old fashion softwares. I have win 7 and its key and I made its bootable image. I mounted image on a thumbdrive by microsoft appropriate software. Now what can i do? In old fashion computer i had to change bios boot priority, how about here? I don't know anything about new bios and uefi.

Hi,
It's not a good idea to downgrade the machine from Windows 8.1 to Windows 7. I don't know why users have to do this hard way: going backward. Windows 8.1 is much, much, much better than Windows 7. Anyway if you wish to stick with Windows 7, please suppy hardware id's for missing devices. The following link will show you how to get hardware-id:

I am sorry i think i could not explain my problem properly
a) In any other desktop, if we want to share a folder, we can do so as an administrator by just right click, but in this HP, We are unable to share folder due to messages like Server services not active, then we run Services.msc, click on Server Service, click on start then able to share folder - we are unable to understand y it is imperative for us to run Services.msc, what is the meaning of message Server services not active
b) We are unable to get LAN connection although when we plug LAN cable, green LED is ON and pink blinking, mostly because there is no driver, we tried to Update Driver for Broadcom Netxteme Gigabit Ethernet, got updated as per the message on screen and get a prompt to restart, after restart we find driver not updated as small circle iin yellow color with a black dot, we tried by loading drivers for netwrok from the link that u had provided still LAN not active
Kindly let me know what do i do for the problem related to services, as i need to start manually even for sharing a folder also for all other services, what i should do so that everything happens on its own like in any other desktops that means without starting up the services by me
Unfortunately i have lost original OS CD to reload OS again to take care of issues related to Services and LAN

So i want to know if is possible change BIOS settings ( password included) with a standard tools that can be used for all HP computers of last 4 years of my company. ¿That is possible?

How do you get default factory programs back?
Ok, my HP Pavilion DV6-7204AX's hard drive screwed over like a few months ago.. It's all fixed now, hard drive and everything.. But, I want to default programs back! Like when I first got the computer when I bought it. How do I do this?

HP 2000-2b16nr drivers won't install
So I have an HP 2000-2b16nr notebook. It came with Windows 8, which I despise, so I loaded windows 7 on it. After loading windows 7 on it and go to the site to install the drivers HP has to offer for this model, it was clear that the computer just did not want to install ANY of the drivers. I need help on what I need to do, because the wireless and ethernet port drivers won't install, and that's a big problem right there. The laptop is just a paperweight at the moment until I can get the drivers on there.

On HP Pavilion 15-n014st, Windows 8.1 Update 1 gives BSOD of "SYSTEM_THREAD_EXCEPTION_NOT_HANDLED"
The title is pretty much self explanatory but anyway:
When I tried installing Windows 8.1 Update released yesterday (also known as KB 2919355) my HP Pavilion 15-n014st froze with a blue screen of death displaying error: "SYSTEM_THREAD_EXCEPTION_NOT_HANDLED".
Prior to this update, I installed all other prerequisite updates including KB 2919442 without any problems, as stated in this Microsoft support page: http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows-8/install-latest-update-windows-8-1
I had the very same BSOD when trying to install Bluetooth drives for the RT3290 Bluetooth hardware on this laptop, and the solution was uninstalling some KBxxxxxx update package. However, when I check my update history I cannot see it installed at the moment which makes me deduce this is not the source of problem this time.
Any help is greatly appreciated since this latest update is MANDATORY for future updates regarding Windows 8.1

Can you identify the PCI\VEN string of the LAN and wireless devices? Open the device manager and right click on the device without a driver. Select the tab as in the image to get to the PCI\VEN string. Post the PCI\VEN code for both devices here.
