Error message when turning on HP Envy 14-K033TU Ultrabook

Hi everyone,

Yesterday I tried connecting to the internet, but it wouldn't work. I tried to restart the laptop. However, I got a blue screen with the following message...

Your PC ran into a problem and needs to restart. we're just collecting some error info, and then we'll restart for you. (0% complete)
If you'd like to know more, you can search online later for this error: SYSTEM_THREAD_EXCEPTION_NOT_HANDLED (iaStorA.sys)

The message remains on the screen for a second, then shows the normal start up screen with the HP logo before returning to the blue screen. It repeats this loop over and over.

I looked at some suggestions for people with a similar problem and tried to do a system recovery, but when I press f11 nothing happens.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

running java in window 8.1

I have been trying to print stuff that needs to have  java & the program keeps telling me java is not detected even though java has been downloaded.  i am new to windows 8 & this is totally frustrating me.  What do I need to do so it will work

OK, Andi:

 

I think I found it. 

 

The XP setup file in this driver has the hardware ID in it, which means that the driver is good for more than just W7 x64 but you may not be able to actually run the exe using XP.  But there is an XP 32 bit driver folder within this file.

 

%ST.DeviceDesc%=STHDA,HDAUDIO\FUNC_01&VEN_111D&DEV_76D9&SUBSYS_103C188F

 

After you install the chipset, graphics and msuaa driver, rebooting after each installation try this>

 

Download but do not run this driver...

Then download and install this free file utility.

 

http://7-zip.org/

 

After you install 7-Zip, right click on the IDT audio driver you downloaded and select the 7-Zip option from the menu.

 

Select 7-Zip to Extract to: and I let it extract the exe to the name of the file so it is easy to find in the next step.

 

OK...here is where the hard part is...you are going to have to find what device in XP has that IDT hardware ID you posted, because I think that is the only way you are going to be able to install the driver.

 

When you find it, click on it and then click on the driver tab. Click  on update driver and select the manual search and then select the Have Disk method of installation.

 

Browse to the driver folder that 7-zip created\WDM\WinXP\STHDA, and select the IDT High Definition Audio CODEC from the list and see if the driver installs that way.

How to get Windows 7 for my HP Laptop that crashed with a bad disk?

I purchased my HP Laptop about 4 years ago.  Was a good machine until the Seagate drive crashed.  I had a company that can recover the data.  But the HP Laptop did not come a DVD for Windows7.  So how came HP help with a new copy of Windows7?  I really do not want to purchase a brand new DVD.

 

Can anyone offer a solution?

If you didn't burn your Recovery Discs you should still be able to order them from HP for a nominal fee. Are you sure you didn't burn a set and put them away when you first got the laptop-many have done that.;)

Well, I could't find what device in XP has the ID.
I did check ALL DEVICES, ALL, and no one has HDAUDIO\FUNC_01&VEN_111D&DEV_76D9&SUBSYS_103C188F as ID.
Really don't understand where it is.
Anymore sugestions? I really appreciate your help, but I don't want to be the guy which stands where causing troubles for you.

Finger Print doesn't work

Dear Sirs, 

The finger print reader of my HP probook 6440b  was working fine untill it suddenly stopped doing so.

While trying to find solution I noticed that the biometric was absent from the device manager too.

Following suggestion found in internet, I reinstalled the driver “Validity”.

The I tried to (re)install DigitaPersona. While installing this software an error message appeared regarding DPCrProv.dll HRESULT -2147024769.

The finger print reader still doesn’t work. Also, each time I open or close my laptop a warning meassage appear saying that the source DPFP authenticate isn’t found in the librairy DPFPApi.dll. The logo for finger print desapeared.

There are many softwares already installed in my computer such as HP Protect tools security manager. May be was a mistake to install DigitaPersona.

Could you please help me to fix this problem. Thank you

I have a HP 2000 Notebook PC. I recently formatted the hard drive and got windows 7 professional. Now, I can't connect to the internet and apparently I'm missing drivers.

HP Envy: SERIOUS issues

I wish I could post this onto every board pertaining to HP Envy notebooks considering that this laptop has caused me NOTHING but problems.

I received this laptop as a gift for graduation, with an extended 2 year warranty through Geek Squad. In a matter of a year, the screen was peeling apart. Proving that this 1,000 dollar laptop was made of nothing but cheap plastic thrown together.

It will shut down randomly ALL THE TIME, which is my favorite thing especially when I am writing 20 page research papers and they magically disappear.

It constantly overheats. I clean the vents, keep it on my desk and don't leave it plugged it but yet, it continues to do a "thermal shut down".

Not only this but I've had to have the webcam replaced because that didn't work at all at first. Then 3 months ago I had to get the entire screen replaced because that decided to stop working too. Now my new screen works but every so often will kick me out of whatever I'm doing and turn all sorts of colors then return to the windows 8 home screen.

My wifi is a joke. The computer can't stay connected to a network for more than 5 minutes and makes me reconnect EVERY time I open the computer. And often says there are no connections when there are.

I will NEVER purchase another product from HP again. And if you are seriously considering purchasing this laptop from them after reading this you may want to reconsider. I have never been so upset with a product in my entire life and will let everyone else know this.

Hei Paul,

 

thank you for your reply. My fingerprint sensor and the Realtek adapter are working fine now. Thanks a lot!

 

The ACPI\INT33A0\0 driver was not the right one. :( Any other idea about it?

All the drivers were installed successfully except graphic driver. We are unable to find sutable driver for AMD Radeon HD 8670M. So please suggest us the correct graphic driver. Thanks in advance.

You need to product a full product number so others can see what exact model you have and point you in the right directions for drivers.
