Select "Microsoft Windows 7 (64-bit)" from the dropdown list.
Expand and download a driver, one at a time.
Does it still report wrong OS?

Re: Missing Video driver and Audio driver.
haha, yeah!
If you do, may I buy a beer to you!
Well, here we go.
Video & Chipset, I could install without problems.
But, the Audio, show me an error as usual.
"The hardware detected is not supported by this IDT software package. The install will be aborted."
And then, the Window close.
Did I pass to you the corrects ID's? I'm completely without audio in my notebook. Nothing nothing and nothing. And I'm scared that I had pass the wrong one.
I have some ID's, there is two things called "Microsoft UAA Bus Driver for High Definition Audio". I'll pass here, just in case.
Name: Microsoft UAA Bus Driver for High Definition Audio
Id's: PCI\VEN_1002&DEV_1314&SUBSYS_188F103C&REV_00
PCI\VEN_1002&DEV_1314&SUBSYS_188F103C
PCI\VEN_1002&DEV_1314&CC_040300
PCI\VEN_1002&DEV_1314&CC_0403
Name: Microsoft UAA Bus Driver for High Definition Audio
Id's: PCI\VEN_1022&DEV_780D&SUBSYS_188F103C&REV_01
PCI\VEN_1022&DEV_780D&SUBSYS_188F103C
PCI\VEN_1022&DEV_780D&CC_040300
PCI\VEN_1022&DEV_780D&CC_0403
There is these two.
Anyway, help me and I pay the beer! haha
Thank you,
Regards,
Andi.
P.s: I don't know if matters the order, but first, I installed the Chipset Driver, then the Video driver, and when this one finished, the last one, Audio driver.
Re: 17t-j100 Touchsmart and Windows 7
Hi:
The 1t7t-j100's support and driver page has all of the W7 x64 drivers necessary.
In order to dual boot you would just need to enable legacy mode and disable secure boot in the BIOS to run both operating systems.
Re: Missing Video driver and Audio driver.
Hi, Andi:
Yes, unfortunately that model has the IDT and not the Realtek audio which is going to make it very hard if not impossible to get the audio driver to work.
Please post the hardware ID for the IDT audio device. I will need it to see if the hardware ID is in the driver I posted or if I need to look for some others that may work.
See if this driver installs the msuaa...
Re: 17t-j100 Touchsmart and Windows 7
Thank you very much!! I've looked at various models and obviously didn't see this.
Re: 17t-j100 Touchsmart and Windows 7
You're very welcome.
That is a new model that HP sells with W7 64 bit as well.
Re: OS for Compaq nx6120
Thanks for that advice, Paul.
You sound as if you have all the bases covered; you fill me with confidence.

Re: OS for Compaq nx6120
You're very welcome.
If you decide to install W7 32 bit on your PC, I will be happy to help you get the drivers you need if you get stuck.
Re: 17t-j100 Touchsmart and Windows 7
I haven't been able to find a configuration option for Win7 on the 17 inch versions. I have seen it for the 15 inch screen. I'll look again when I have a little time. Thanks again for your help tonight.
Re: 17t-j100 Touchsmart and Windows 7
You're right.
I can only find the 15.6 screen model of the one you want but the hardware is exactly the same which must be why HP tossed in the W7 x64 drivers.
This is all I could come up with for W7 PC's offered currently.
Re: win8 hard drive failure. trying to reinstall win8
I tried cloning the partition and everything worked and copied over succesfully. after I try to reboot, it does not work and it boots right into the OS i have on the laptop. do I have any other options or things to try? this is getting really frustrating.
Re: Can I upgrade the preinstalled windows 7 home premium from 32 bit to 64 bit with the same licens
So basically the OEM version, 32 or 64 bit, of Windows that is pre-installed on the computer is the only version that computer can have with that license.
Would it be worth a try to contact HP to see if they've got a 64-bit recovery disc of some sort?
Re: Can I upgrade the preinstalled windows 7 home premium from 32 bit to 64 bit with the same licens
Anytime.
It wouldn't hurt to ask.
I know on some business PC's they have recovery disks for both bit versions.

Once again, appreciate your assistance!
Re: Missing Video driver and Audio driver.
Well, well, well. I hope there is.. I really want to stay in Windows XP.
What I don't get, is that sometimes the audio really works!! I watched 2 movies earlier, and do not show any problems. But when I restarted the computer, the audio stopped working.
Anyway, let's see.
I searched for any "IDT audio device" on the Device Manager, and I couldn't find it.
I made a restore, and the system is just like when I finished install the Windows XP.
There is the items:
Audio Device on High Definition Audio Bus;
Network Controller;
PCI Device;
SM Bus Controller;
Unkown Device (ACPI);
Unknown Device (AMD USB 3.0), and
Video Controller (VGA Compatible).
Is any of those?
If isn't, please guide me to the part where is located the "Idt Audio Device".
Before I forget, I tried the archive that you post to fix the msuaa, and didn't work, neither before the system restore, and neither after, nothing changed.
Thank you for the attention, Paul!
Regards,
Andi.

Re: Vista Lan Adapter Driver for Pavilion DV6220TX
Paul
Some extra info for you on this. When Vista starts it tries to install the driver for the Lan Adapter but can not find it so asks for the driver CD or location. When I point Vista to the driver location it tries to install but it can not and is now saying registry key missing. I do not know what reg key missing. I do know at the key shown below there are values missing.

Re: Can't run chkdsk due to "recent software installation"
Hello,
Thank you for posting in the HP Support forum.
While it is very difficult to troubleshoot such issues without specific clue on a forum, I would suggest the following:
- If your HP computer came with Windows preinstalled, then I would suggest you try to back up your files on external media and them perform HP System Recovery. This will restore your Windows to factory default condition. Here are instructions:
Windows 7: http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/document?docname=c01867418&cc=bg&dlc=en&lc=en
Windows 8: http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/document?docname=c03489643&cc=bg&dlc=en&lc=en
- If your HP computer did not come with Windows preinstalled but you installed the operating system post-purchase, then I would recommend you back up your files and reinstall Windows. Do not forget to visit the HP site to get the latest drivers for your computer as you will need them afterwards.
Please, let me know if something is not clear and don't hesitate to ask for help if you face issues.
