Downgrading from windows 8 to 7 - Sleekbook pavilion 15 b160sa
After having some issues with windows 8, I've been forced to downgrade to Windows 7.
I couldn't find anyone else having done this so a word of forewarning - you will not be able to boot it from USB unless you
use the left usb (I assume that one is 2.0). You should make sure you have another computer to transfer the drivers to it as you cannot get online at all with the default set up.
I used an atheros qualcomm ar9485 driver to get the wifi working which allowed me to get some more drivers downloaded.
Does anyone have a full list of the drivers I should be using for this?

Thanks for providing the required links. However are these drivers all I required for HP 15-d009tu Notebook PC? Because I don't think Bluetooth,Card Reader,Chipset,Graphics,LAN,MEI- Intel,Touch Pad,Wireless Driver and all other drivers and utilities (Web cam etc.) are covered on above links. Is that true? Why can't HP provide a simple disc to install the drivers? I don't have a different computer with internet connectivity. I am tired of going to Cyber Cafes and trying to search and download the drivers and after that I am getting errors of compatibility issues.How can I solve this with a resolution where I do not need to do all this stuff. As you can understand after buying a Laptop noone wants this kind of trouble.

Boot Device Not Found - Hard disk (3FO)
So after I replaced the screen on this laptop, i booted it up and came across a black screen that says:
Boot Device Not Found
Please install an operating system on your hard disk.
Hard Disk (3F0)
F2 System Diagnostics

So I installed windows 7 and when I restarted the computer it went back to this. I've gotten it to occasionally boot up windows. I've done all the system diagnostics tests in F2 and they passed. I've done the hard disk test in the Bios menu and it passed. I don't know what to do.

HP envy m6 fingerprint scanner not resonding
Hello,
Two days ago, the fingerprint scanner stopped working. I restart my computer and it didn't work. The scanner used to flash everytime it recogized a website for fingerprint scan, and now it showing "sign in with your master password." I didn't update anything from my computer, because I think Windows 8.1 is crap. I also didn't even install anything into my laptop.
Please help, it gets fustrated when I get used to the fingerprint. You know....people get lazy when there's quicker way to do something xD

How do I fix the Click-to-run configuration failure?
I have an HP Pavilion g4 laptop. Today, I tried to open up Microsoft Office Word Starter and got an error message saying "Click-2-Run configuration failure" and it wouldn't let me get into Microsoft Office Word Starter. I tried with the Excel Starter and got the same result. I tried restoring it to previous versions and it still wouldn't work. Before this started happening, I uninstalled some programs that were recently installed. I need Microsoft Office Word Starter for school so I hope that this will help someone find a fix for the problem. Thanks.

Click-2-Run would create a portable Office (Word and Excel) for you but somehow it is corrupted. Please use the following instructions to fix:

Hi,
Few things may cause 3F0 error. Please try one by one:
- Bad hard drive or partition structure: erase the entire hard drive then use HP recovery discs to reinstall of the OS and all partitions.
- Bad hard drive data cable that connects it to the motherboard: replace/reseat the cable
- Bad SATA controller on the motherboard: replace the motherboard or laptop.
In your case, most likely is #2 above (because you replaced something which may cause loosing the cable).

Thanks for that - that has got me a lot further now.
The only issue was the IDT audio however didn't work but I guess it's all from a different laptop so there was always likely to be some discordance. The system string is HDAUDIO\FUNC_01&VEN_111D&DEV_76E5&SUBSYS_103C193B&REV_1003. That said the sound seems to be working fine out of box albeit a bit crackly.
I then managed to the video card sorted by using the AMD beta drivers (the standard one claims to not find a compatible video card).

So far I've got the wireless, ethernet, usb 3.0 and video card working. I'm not sure how the touchscreen is supposed to work under windows 7 - it seems to be doing ok as far as I can see.
