Re: NO BOOTABLE DEVICE INSERT BOOT DISK AND PRESS ANY KEY

Hi,

This usually indicates that the Hard Drive has failed. So, first, try performing HP hardware diagnostics at boot and see if the Hard Drive fails the test or if the system actually sees the drive. Let me know the result and we can proceed from there.

Turn off the PC by holding the power button. Turn on PC and continously keep pressing ESC until startup menu appears and then press F2 to enter diagnostics. Try the fast test, or at least the hard drive test.

See if there are any hardware errors.

Let me know,

David

Re: need help to revert to hp official bios from insydeh20 F.60!

I have the same issue with my HP Laptop bs-111ur. A couple of months ago I updated BIOS by F.60. I am sure that I downloaded F.60 from the official website. Around the same, after BIOS upgrading I started heard loud fan noise. I performed many steps to fix it:

  • Updated all drivers;
  • Reinstalled Windows 10 Home Edition;
  • Used all tests from HP Support Assistant;
  • Thermal paste was replaced;
  • The fan was replaced (yes, I even installed a new fan for CPU).

Nothing helped.

Recently, I noticed, that F.60 version gone from the list of versions supported for my bs-111ur. And now, obviously, I am pretty sure BIOS should be downgraded to previous supported F.52 version. I tried the options above proposed:

Is there any idea how my BIOS reset?

Hi

I suggest a Recovery Disk from here...

https://support.kaspersky.com/viruses/krd18

and then maybe try this afterwards

https://usa.kaspersky.com/downloads/tdsskiller

Next

From 2016 onwards there is a possible recovery option via the cloud...
HP Consumer PCs - Using the HP Cloud Recovery Tool (Windows 7 & 10)
https://support.hp.com/us-en/document/c06162205
OR
This First part only works when a valid Recovery Partition is enabled.

If it displays an error message then move onto the Second part,
OR if you have data you wish to try and save using the XCOPY command.
Then create your own Repair/Recovery/Rebuild/Re-install media or buy a set from HP.

Turn off the computer.

Disconnect all connected devices and cables, Media Drives, USB drives, printers, & faxes.
Remove media from internal drives, and remove any recently added internal hardware.
Do not disconnect the monitor, keyboard, mouse, or power cord.

Turn on the computer and repeatedly press the F11 key, about once every second,
until the Choose an option screen is displayed, and then continue.

On the Choose an Option screen, click Troubleshoot, and work your way through the screens.

Second Part:-
This may require another PC. Find and Download your .iso from…
W10 should activate automagically from the embedded licence key.

https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/software-download/windows10

For when it’s a NON MS OS ( iOS / Linux ) creating the install media.
www.microsoft.com/en-us/software-download/windows10ISO

Expand/Extract/Burn the iso Image onto a DVD/USB as needed.
Microsoft’s Creator Tool will make the required DVD or USB.

Even though it has NO actual HP software/drivers included, you may be able to
XCOPY the C:\Users\* area onto a ‘large’ USB stick, via the Command Prompt.

You’ll need to try various drive letters; D:..-..Z: until it’s matched - could be G; mine’s S:

C:\>XCOPY C:\Users\* S:\ /e /i /h (then files like those 3 listed below get copied over)

C:\Users\desktop.ini
C:\Users\All Users\agent.1509128044.bdinstall.bin
C:\Users\All Users\HP Deskjet 2540 series\Help\flash\zoom.swf

Then you can try System Recovery Options / Advanced Options shown in the screenshots.
NB: - W10 Begin with the Automatic Repair, then Startup Settings etc.

From either the C:\ or the X:\ prompt try the following

cd boot
bootrec /FixMBR
bootrec /FixBoot
bootrec /RebuildBCD

If the above FAILS then please try:-

Error 90d and purple screen

I have hp pavillion 15 e024 tu with windows 8.1. My laptop was slow and got message,

"The system bios has detected your notebook PC was placed in hibernation to avoid overheating .

The system is now operating normally and your data should remain intact.

 Overheating may occur if the cooling vents are blocked or the operating temperature exceed the specification. The notebook PC should return to normal operation once the situation is resolved.

 System Temperature (90D)"

So i cleaned the fan and sink, changed the thermal paste and updated the BIOS. Since my laptop was slow, therefore i installed chrome os (removed the windows) from neverware. After doing all these things, again it was showing error 90d many times. But next day it was not showing any error 90d at all. But evening of that day, my screen went purple. And then next of that day, screen also become good.

Please help, what is the problem?

It is likely that the Hard Disk has failed, but the hardware test will help to show it's condition.

HOW DO I USE DIAGNOSTICS?

HP PC Hardware Diagnostics Windows is a Windows-based utility that allows you to run diagnostic tests to determine if the computer hardware is functioning properly. The tool runs within the Windows operating system in order to diagnose hardware failures. HP PC Hardware Diagnostics Windows comes pre-installed on new HP computers, but if not on yours, download here:- http://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp93001-93500/sp93457.exe

My bad.  The clean install did work, though I had to create it on a non HP computer.  When I downloaded the file on my working Pavillion 15 and tried to cteate the reinstall USB the media failed.  I tried it again on a Toshiba and created a reinstall USB that did reinstall the OS on my other Pavillion 15.  Thanks for the help!
