Re: Envy 17T-J100 Recovery Failed
During your attempts with different BIOS settings- did one of those include changing date to 1/01/2012?
Re: Restoration incomplete error
You recovery partition may have gotten corrupted during the upgrade to Windows 10. Since you successfully upgraded and activated Windows 10 you can do a clean install of it. You have a digital license stored on Microsoft's servers.
Microsoft provides the free Media Creation Tool to download files and create a Windows 10 usb flash drive.Big advantage is you will have latest updated version of Windows 10. At least 8gb flash drive required:
https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/software-download/windows10
Select Download tool now, and select Run.
If you agree to the license terms, select Accept.
On the What do you want to do? page, select Create installation media for another PC, and then select Next.
Select the language, edition, and architecture (64-bit or 32-bit) for Windows 10.
-------------------------------
When the flash drive is prepared insert it in a usb port. Power on the laptop and immediately start tapping Esc key. From the menu tap F9 key and use the arrow keys to move to and select usb. Tap Enter key.
When installing and you go through first few screens- choose Custom and select each partition and delete each (if you have more than one).Install on the unallocated space left from that process.Continue with installation. If it asks at any point for license key just choose "I don't have a key". It will continue and should activate once you are online.
This will not include the original software from HP but most of it can be installed from your Support page.
Recovery Kit
Hi,
On my laptop [serial number removed] the hard drive went bad. I ask you to send a Recover Kit to install and license Windows for a new hard disk.
Regard`s,
Tim

Win 10 KB4093112 - Fails to install with following error: 0x80070490
On this Envy 360 laptop running WIn 10 Home, V1709, I am getting "failed to install error 0x80070490" for KB4093112, 11 times now since its release June 10th. However, System properties shows 16299.371 is the installed OS build, which correlates to this KB. The problem is, once a day, the laptop "re-attempts" the installation since it thinks it still needs it. How can I stop the madness (keep "lose Win 10" jokes to a minimum please).

Re: Recovery cd
Re: Windows 10 upgrade
Hello
Your laptop is supported for Windows 10 so there shouldn't be any issues with regards to how it will perform.
The only thing to really be mindful of is to backup your personal data. Any Docs, Photos, etc should be copied to another physical drive and/or the cloud.
If you really wanted to be cautious, you could also make an image backup of your current configuration onto a USB external hard drive. You can use a free tool like Macrium or Aomei Backupper to do this.
Otherwise, you are good to go.
Re: Windows 10 upgrade
The most important things are drivers and HP supplies them all
It is safe to upgrade.
Regards.
Re: I install windows enterprise and i want to go back to the factory system.
If recovering partition had no problem, then you should be able to do factory reset, by any of the methods listed here:
https://support.hp.com/in-en/document/c04758961#AbT3
You can try creating HP recovery USB from HP recovery manager software yourself. Let me know how it goes.
Here is the recovery manager update from your support page: https://support.hp.com/in-en/drivers/selfservice/swdetails/hp-pavilion-15-cc100-laptop-pc/16842299/swItemId/ob-190092-1
If both of the above are NOT working, then what I suspect is what has happened to you. Your notebook HP recovery partition has got CORRUPTED during the partitioning of drive.
If you need further help in clean installation of Windows 10, let me know. Otherwise you can contact HP official technical support directly for purchasing HP recovery USB, as mentioned by me in my first post here.
Re: How to download the original OS win 10 which get with my laptop?
One short way to do is to create Windows 10 installtion media and install to your computer
https://www.microsoft.com/en-au/software-download/windows10
Windows should activate automatically when you come online. If not, please do a harder way: order Recovery set from HP
https://support.hp.com/au-en/document/bph07143
and bring your machine back to Factory settings.
Regards.
Re: Windows Spotlight is not rotating background pictures
Hello
I think you are talking about the Background Slideshow function in Windows, which is a Windows feature in any Windows 10 system.
Have you tried setting the Background settings to Slideshow and its not working?
You have to have a folder selected that has the images you want for the desktop.
Re: Recovery cd
Re: Recovery cd
No, unfortunately that offer is no longer available.
Rather than buy a Vista Recovery Disk (which is probably no longer available), you would be better off to buy Windows 10 and install it.
Not knowing what you have for a laptop, I could not tell you how well it will work with 10.
Generally, it will work ok with the generic drivers built into Windows.
Re: Recovery of Windows 7 with iastor.sys error
Enter safe mode to Windows and install those driver I linked to in my previous post or you can download those from your support page.
https://support.hp.com/in-en/document/c01835750
I'm not sure to find any model with the numbers you gave.
Which operating system after you in? Have you performed factory reset to Windows 7 as mentioned in your first post? .
Re: Factory Reset
Your laptop came with Windows 10 from factory.
https://support.hp.com/in-en/document/c05243206
This is a budget oriented notebook with very minimal resources not enough to perform a factory reset or Windows feature upgrade.
I would suggest you to do a clean install of Windows 10.
Are you able to enter BIOS setup by tapping f10 key as soon as you power on notebook?
Re: Factory Reset
Here are the instructions for clean install,
Using Microsoft windows media creation tool by create UEFI bootable Windows 10 installation USB:
https://www.tenforums.com/tutorials/2376-create-bootable-usb-flash-drive-install-windows-10-a.html
You may need to disable secure boot, plug in USB, thereafter change boot order from BIOS to continue to boot and install from USB:
https://support.hp.com/in-en/document/c04784866
https://support.hp.com/in-en/document/c01443326
Clean install: https://www.tenforums.com/tutorials/1950-clean-install-windows-10-a.html
Windows will be AUTOMATICALLY ACTIVATED on installation while connected to internet.
Next MS build is 1803 coming within next 2 weeks. So I would suggest for that and directly install that if I'm not in urgent need of the notebook at present.
Additional drivers can be downloaded from here:

EliteBook 850 G4 - Unable to enable Hyper-V
Hello everyone,
I'm trying to enable the Hyper-V on this laptop, both via command line on Windows 10 and the GUI.
In both cases I see "could not complete the operation" during the reboot and it finally rollback any modification.
Could this be due to the fact that this Laptop/CPU is not supporting this technology?
Thanks in advance
