Please see HP Pavilion g6-2111us Notebook PC Drivers & Downloads for Windows 7 drivers that should work with your HP Pavilion g6-2306el Notebook Computer. The Windows 8 drivers for both of these computers is almost identical, including the BIOS. This means they appear to use the same or a similar systemboard and most, if not all, of the hardware is shared.
Please post the Windows Device Manager's "Hardware Ids", as shown below, if you continue have issues installing the proper drivers;
