The HP Pavilion dv6-3227cl Entertainment Notebook Computer appears to be about 3 to 4 years old.
Please see HP PCs - Performing an HP SystemRecovery (Windows 7) for instructions on performing an HP System Recovery or Factory Reset to attempt to resolve your issue. If this doesn't work, please read below.
Assuming the hard drive was bad, it is possible that the replacement drive is an AF (Advance Format) drive and the HP Recovery Discs may not be compatible with the newe drive. Please see HP PCs - Troubleshooting HP System Recovery Problems (Windows 7);
If you replaced a standard hard drive that is not an advanced format drive with an Advanced Format ( ) drive, system recovery might not recognize the drive or partition - depending on the type and size of AF hard drive and when recovery discs were created (prior to Fall 2010).
