Thanks, tried it but it didn't work, but never even thought about running a disc check as well! I work from home and have learned to IT many of my things...mostly on my Vista that is 7 years old and still running great! That has a Lightscribe (maybe, I wore the sticker off..lol) fingerprint reader and that was one of my buying points on the new computer - sad to say, it was a waste of time! I have also learned to log off my finger print reader on Vista, the do updates so it doesn't mess that up and NOT on "shut down and install". Actually, my whole issue started when Windows decided everyone needed IE 11 which didn't work with my work, so I system restored to before...that completely screwed up my registry and everything. My favorites didn't work, and I spent days fixing that issue. I wish these things didn't happen, but glad I can IT most of it myself! Usually it is a windows security update that seems to screw everything up. Well, thanks for the info!
