HP Simple Pass Finger print reader not working after updating to Windows 8.1 (notebook dv7-7332ea)

Hey there,

I'm having problems getting the fingerprint reader working again on my laptop. The problems started after updating from windows 8 to windows 8.1.

I tried uninstalling and reinstalling both the driver Validity WBF DDK 4.4.234.0 and HP Simplepass Software from the HP website as below so I'm pretty sure they are the correct ones but I must be missing something somewhere. HP Simple Pass only works with my master password.

I'd be grateful if someone could help me out with this, it would be really appreciated! Is there something else I need to do?
