HP ProBook 4510s Live USB

Hi all,

I currently have an HP ProBook 4510s notebook with Windows 7 installed - I wish to boot into Linux from a USB stick but it persistently fails to work.

If I boot the notebook normally, it will load Windows and all will be well. If I power on with a USB device attached, it will hang at the HP Invent logo and go no further. Pressing ESC to access other options has no effect with a USB device attached.

I know the problem isn't the USB device itself - I have tried three different devices to the same result and all three work successfully on other laptops.

There is nothing obvious in the BIOS I can see that would be causing the problem.

Is there something I could be overlooking?

I would be grateful for thoughts - I have done extensive Google searching and cannot find a solution.

Thanks. :)
