there is a ralink bluetooth driver update on HP for Windows 8.1 - but of course you cannot install it as we are stuck on windows 8.0.
I am wonering if I try to disable both the Ralink wifi and bluetooth devices and try the upgrade - and should the gods allow it - the upgrade actually completes the windows upgrade without the "dreaded error code" - will I be able to download the new drivers and install them if the two devices are disabled?
Or do I need to try to re-enable them and download the new drivers.
The reason I am asking is that in the last couple of messages posted on this forum - it seems like the only way windows 8.1 will even operate is to disable or physically remove the bluetooh adapter - which I don't want to do.
As noted in previous opstings I have tried to disable the wifi device but not the bluetooth device. Worth a try but if the compputer won't boot up - having to work in Safe Mode is a little bit more technical than I can handle.
Any thoughts?
