Hi

I pressed F11 to do a recovery for my laptop, went to HP recovery. At first i chose to backup my files but then i pressed the button Back and continued on to reocver my laptop without backing up my files. However, after some time, an error occurred and then a box popped and said: parameters are not found or incorrect. It was still 0%. It stayed like this for 30mins. Everything i press would give me the same box about parameters being not found. Even pressing reboot or shutting down. So i pressed and hold the power button. After I turning on my laptop, the following was written: Boot device not found, please install an operating system. Hard disk 3F0.

Small liquid spill, now laptop only shows a blink-code

Last week a small amount of liquid spilled on the mousepad area and along the front edge of the bottom portion of my laptop. I dried up the liquid as quickly as possible and the laptop continued to operate with no issue for another 30 minutes until I shut it down. As the laptop was shutting down, it made an unusual noise (like a faint whirring followed by a light pop, if that makes sense). I immediately powered on the laptop again to check what happened. The laptop sounded like it usually started as normal (the fan turned on). The screen remained black/no power and the cap locks button  showed a blink code (3 long/2 short flashes). The cd drive can still be opened by pressing the button.

After researching the blink code on the HP site, I believe it refers to a system board malfunction/error. Upon inspecting the inside of my laptop where the system board is located, no discernable damage could be seen.

Any feedback would be greatly appreciated and I hope my laptop is still salvageable. Thanks in advance.

Hi:

The W10 product key is in the BIOS.

As long as you install the correct version of W10 the key is good for, it won't even ask you to enter a product key, and will install and automatically activate once you are connected to the internet.

Hi:

You need to manually install this driver that I zipped up and attached below.

Download and unzip the attached file to its folder.

Go to the device manager.  Click on the Coprocessor device needing the driver.

Click on the driver tab.  Click on Update driver.

Select the Browse my computer for driver software option, and browse to the driver folder you unzipped.

Make sure the Include Subfolders box is checked and the driver should install.

Then reboot.

I have a problem, I use a USB drive to restore the system using the HP cloud recovery tool, but for some reason the laptop refuses to load the HP Recovery Manager from it and gives the following error: “This computer is not supported by the recovery media system. It is not possible to continue restoring this system using these media. Error with number 0100-8333-8330

1. It is the windows update that caused the crash in the first place.

2. The hp assistant says I am up to date with the version that I rolled back to. The Intel site has a newer version of the driver that also crashes the system.

HP Laptop 14-cf0xxx keeps shutting down (screen goes black) on its own after only minutes of use

A couple days ago, my laptop started shutting down on its own after only minutes of use. When I say shut down, I mean the screen just goes black. Now every time I start it up it does this after only minutes of use. I'm currently concerned it will shut down again as I type this.

My laptop is only just over a year old. This only started happening after I charged my phone through my computer using a recently purchases USB phone charger, so I'm wondering if this has anything to do with the problems I am having. I've also noticed my laptop making a lot more noise than usual, but it does not feel hot.

I'm very concerned as this is a relatively new laptop and I have treated it very well, never dropped it and never damaged it in any way. I only use it for basic functions like Microsoft products, streaming and web searches.

Any advice or help with this problem would be much appreciated!

Thank you.

Hello

Welcome !

If we suspect the regular Chromium app, this should be a free opensource version of the popular web-browser Chrome

However, if it is something else, we can investigate.

  • Please, take and post back your picture/screenshot of what you see on the screen and what you talk about. Use the attachment (clipper) option. You may also use your phone or camera
  • Go to Start -> type control.exe to open Control Panel, open Control Panel. Navigate to Programs and features. Take a screenshot or picture of it and show me what you see there

Looking forward to your reply.

Hello

3 + 2 blinks are for memory issues.

Reseat the memory. See the section Reseating memory modules in a notebook for more information.
If reseating the memory does not resolve the problem, try replacing the memory modules. You might also consider contacting support for repair due to a possible RAM or system board failure.

If nothing helps, post again. Let me know if your PC is under active warranty or it has expired.

Thank you for posting back.

I appreciate your efforts to try and resolve the issue. The last thing I can suggest trying is a restore back to the factory by downloading the recovery image.

The HP Cloud Recovery Tool allows you to download recovery software to a USB drive. You can use the downloaded recovery image file in order to install the Windows operating system.

Note: Before initiating the recovery process try performing the hard drive test

  1. Plug the AC adapter into the computer.
  2. Press the Power button for at least five seconds to turn off the computer.
  3. Turn on the computer and start pressing Esc repeatedly, about once every second. When the menu appears, press the F2 key.
  4. When the HP PC Hardware Diagnostics menu displays, click Component Tests.
  5. In the Component Tests menu, click Hard Drive.
  6. Click the Quick Test.
  7. Click Run once. If the computer has more than one hard drive, click Test All Hard Drives. The Quick Test begins.
  8. If the computer has more than one hard drive, select the drive you want to test. To test all the hard drives, select Test All Hard Drives.

When a test is complete, the results display on the screen. Test results are also available in the Test Logs on the main menu.

If the hard drive passes the Quick Test, but a problem still exists with the hard drive, run the Extensive Test. This test includes the SMART Check, Short DST, Optimized DST, and Long DST. To run a specific test, select it from the Hard Drive Tests menu.

Hope this helps! Keep me posted for further assistance.

Hello

Yes, this may be a Windows/driver issue.

  • Did you manage to update your Windows 7 to SP1 ?
  • Did you download and install all Microsoft Windows updates for it ?
  • Have you installed all drivers for HP website ?

Besides the above,  try to perform the below steps to resolve the issue:

  • Click on the Start Button
  • Type "Device Manager" in the start search box & open the Device Manager
  • Look for Batteries and expand it by click on the + symbol on the left
  • Right Click on "Microsoft ACPI Compliant Control Method Battery" & uninstall
Note: The Battery driver will get re-installed automatically when you restart the Notebook again
  • Please Shutdown the Notebook
  • Please remove the Battery and unplug the Power Adapter
  • Press and Hold the Power Button for full 1 Minute
  • Go ahead and put back the Battery and connect the Power Adapter
  • Look for "Plugged In Charging" message on the Battery icon

After performing all the steps if you are facing the same issue still, please perform three more steps:

1. Download HP Support Assistant >> https://www8.hp.com/us/en/campaigns/hpsupportassistant/hpsupport.html

2. Run a Battery Check from HPSA

3. Let me know the battery check results

Hello,

Thank you for your update.

Unfortunately, I cannot help you without details.

  • It is essential to identify how exactly the PC blinks, try to catch the pattern.
  • If you are unable to, please create a video clearly showing the flashes and upload it somewhere. Please, share a link to watch it.

Looking forward to your reply.

Hello, Message translated by Google Following the replacement of my hard drive by an SSD and the installation of Windows 10 (64 bits) to replace Windows 7 (64 bits) of origin, my portable Pavilion DV7-6065sf (LE914EA # ABF) is very long at boot with a black screen of about 2 minutes but after it works properly. The PC has two switchable graphics cards and the problem comes from the HD6490M graphics card because by disabling it the PC starts very quickly So I uninstalled the drivers for the two graphics cards then I did a new search with Windows Update which installed the
