Please tell me if the HP Elitebook 8440p Notebook can be upgraded to 64-bit

I currently have a 32-bit HP Elitebook 8440p Notebook, running Windows 7. I was wondering if I could upgrade to 64-bit, so I can actually use more RAM than just 2.98 GB. Please say I can, I would be so happy.
