Drivers Help.

I did somthing stupid, not realising the importance of the recovery partition, I deleted it... Then I installed a copy Of windows from the microsoft site and drivers from the various makers websites. I am a gamer and am having problems with my FPS. People on worse off machines than mine are getting better gameplay / FPS.

What I want to know is, Is it better to use the drivers supplied on HP's site specifically for this computer? or should I be updating my drivers as new ones come out? the HP drivers are from as far back as 2006 on some. That is NOT up to date obviously. I hear that you arent supposed to update laptops drivers unless its specific to that machine. But I'm also told as a gamer to keep drivers up to date. Which is true? At this point I've changed so many things trying to fix my issues that I need to format just to get back to a starting point.  I've been keeping my AMD Catalyst drivers up to date as they come out from amd.com. I also used Driver identifier to update everything else. Nothing seems to have worked.

I'm getting at best in an open area with not much detail and noone around, 20 FPS on Rift:Storm Legion.

In town standing still I get between 8 - 10 FPS... I know this machine is not a gaming machine but as I said, People with worse machines are getting better gameplay than I am. I'm injured and unable to upgrade anything that involves money so Doing whatever I can with this machine is all Ive got. Sorry for the long winded speech.
