When requesting assistance, please provide the complete model name and/or product number of the HP computer in question. HP/Compaq makes thousands of models of computers that are all different. Without this information it may be difficult or impossible to assist you in resolving your issue.
The above requested information can be found on the bottom of your laptop computer or inside the battery case.
If the computer isn't booting from a CD or DVD, you may need to change the boot order in the BIOS and/or press "F9" to bring up the Boot Device Menu and select the CD/DVD drive. If the CD/DVD is bootable, you will see a message requesting you to press any key to boot from the CD/DVD. If you don't see this, the CD/DVD may not be bootable.
