Hi guys,
This is my first post here and i am coming to you with an issue which i am sure the experts here will be able to solve. But first things first.
Model - HP G6 2301AX
OS - Windows 8
Whether backup taken - yes (in 5 discs)
Now the problem.
I was not satisfied with all my data being parked in one drive (i.e the C drive). So i had to create partitions. So after taking the backup I proceeded with the partition process. I used Windows 7 bootable DVD to run the partition manager. I created a total of 3 partitions (this includes formatting of the drives too). And i also installed the Windows 7 OS. But then i started seeing that many of the drivers were not compatible with Windows 7. Now in this entire process i didnt use the backup DVD's at all.
What I would like to know now is how do I remove windows 7 and re-install windows 8 on my laptop. Furthurmore , the backup I took, does it contain the Windows OS ? If yes then is it a bootable disc ?
Also I didnt write down the product key before wiping out. As i have gathered from certain posts in this forum the product key is embedded in the OS. So that shouldn't be a problem.
My request to all the experts out here that kindly help me out on this asap.
Thanks
Sanchay Maity
