I had the same issue on my HP EliteBook 8760w yesterday. I was able to get back into Windows by booting into Safe Mode. From there it automatically said the update failed and uninstalled it which rolled everything back to the way it was before the update. It took a long time to uninstall the update and revert everything back to the way it was before the update. I haven't tried the update again yet but I have a feeling it might have to do with the video card drivers or some other driver issue. I'll probably wait a few weeks and see if they release a new version of the update or see if anyone else has the issue and comes up with a solution.
