The 3f0 error code can have three causes:
1. Bad hard drive or partition structure, erase the entire hard drive then use HP recovery discs to attempt reinstall of the OS and all partitions.
2. Bad hard drive data cable that connects it to the motherboard, replace the cable
3. Bad sata controller on the motherboard replaces the motherboard or laptop.
You can check if the harddrive by booting up the computer and going into "hardware diagnostics" by pressing the F2 button multiple times.
In the "advanced hardware diagnostics, if you cannot find the harddrive/harddisk test in the main menu, look for it under "components test"
In the harddrive test, choose the "extensive test" and if probpted, let it "run once".
