Hey Dragon-Fur,
I tried the process again but still no joy. I suspect the validity sensor was still not completely uninstalled.
I went into System, found Biometric Devices and under that was Validity Sensors (WBF) (PID=0018). I right clicked on it, selected uninstall and checked the box.
When I reinstalled it still said the files were already existing on my computer and asked if I wanted to overwrite. I selected yes to this and continued but still no luck.
Anyhow I doubled checked in add/remove programs and the driver is still there - Validity WBF DDK.
At least this is a learning process. Could there be something wrong with my laptop?
Cheers,
Damon
