Can someone help me out, please?
I recently received a message from Microsoft advising me that support for Windows XP will terminate on April 8, 2014.
I have Windows XP on my HP netbook. How can I find out if it would support Windows 8? I have looked at a couple of HP pages, and ran the Windows 8 Upgrade Assistant, but I'm rather illiterate when it comes to tech language.
This is the model of my netbook:
HP Mini 210-1041NR
Here are the specs of my netbook:
- ProcessorIntel Atom N450 / 1.66 GHz
- RAM installed size1.0 GB
- Hard Drive160.0 GB - Serial ATA-150 - 5400.0 rpm
- Operating SystemMicrosoft Windows XP Home Edition
- Display Type10.1 in TFT active matrix
- Max Resolution1024 x 600 ( WSVGA )
- Graphics ProcessorIntel GMA 3150
- Optical DriveNone
These are the requirements for Windows 8:
Processor: 1 gigahertz (GHz) or faster with support for PAE, NX, and SSE2
RAM: 1 gigabyte (GB) (32-bit) or 2 GB (64-bit)
Hard disk space: 16 GB (32-bit) or 20 GB (64-bit)
Graphics card: Microsoft DirectX 9 graphics device with WDDM driver
Thank you! :)
