Yes, I Tried to no avail, may have made it worse.

1) Downloaded the drivers zip file

2) Removed the existing biometric device drivers

3) rebooted

4) Unziped the device Drivers

5) selected drivers

6) selected I386

7) Selected UFMA (took me to http://webimages.authentec.com/store/uFMA/ufma-64bit.html)

8) selected TrueSuite® Starter

9) Pop-up asked if I wanted to save or run mswu64.exe; selected run

10) Began installation of AuthenTec True Suite

11) Selected Install; Thank-you screen came up

12) Restarted

13) Went to control panel, device manager

14) Right clicked on computer name

15) Selected scan for legacy hardware

16) Add hardware (no biometrics)

17) show all devices; next

18) Not able to find Biometric Devices.

19) Tried to run TrueSuite® software; cannot find device.

20) In device manager, scanned for hardware changes

21) Found under other devices; unknown device

22) Took it to the location of the downloaded TrueSuite® driver software: unsuccessful; stated could not find software

23) Went back to HP and downloaded Validity Fingerprint Sensor Driver

24) Restarted

No Luck

The fingerprint scanner will not even light up now and I cannot find it in the device manager
