I have just purchased an HP Eny 17t laptop. I have been trying to update to Windows 8.1 with no success. My first try ended in "the blue screen of death". I was sent recovery discs, which didn't work, sent the laptop back to the factory. Now, 8.0 seems to work, but still won't let me upgrade. Now, when I use the upgrade assistant, it tells me "this computer was not tested for 8.1 and therefore, some things may not work and there are no instructions for the upgrade" After reading other posts on this and Microsoft's website, I am discouraged of ever solving my problem. My question is does anyone know just what the conflict is when this message is given? Is HP working on making their products compatible with Win 8.1. ( or future versions) Technical support has not been able to help.
