The hardware ID is: "Synoptics PS/2 Port TouchPad"
The CVA is called "SP53289.sva" This is the same before and after I upgraded to 16.2.21.0. I am pretty sure that when I dowloaded the upgrade it was a zipped fil and it created af foler with the mane I road about earlier so it isn't a new program but just an update. In the folder there is a release file with this e.g text:

Merged default scrolling direction change
