I have the same issue. Apparently everybody who updates HPSA has the same dang issue. Updating HPSA breaks coolsense. Which is most hilarious, considering how bad Hp laptops (mine included) perform in term of heating. Guys, I think we should give up. We can keep the outdated version of HPSA or install the latest one and lose coolsense. Don't expect anything from HP, they have ZERO interest in updating the software or giving a minimum support to their customers. Looks like they are content like this. I have bought my laptop 1 year and a half ago, and since then I've had to constantly fight with overheating and outdated drivers issues. It's unbelievable that the only way for HP dv6 and dv7 users to update their gpu drivers is to download unofficial modded software like Leshcat's. How can a company the size of HP not feel ashamed by it? For me it's a mistery.
All in all, the only "solution" I coul find to the coolsense issue (and all the others) is to perform a clean install of Windows7 getting rid of the HP crappy preinstalled software, install a modded version of the Bios I've found on internet and force the fan speed I want. Of course it's a dangerous "last ditch" effort, but after all my warrancy is over. Again, thanks HP for forcing me to do this.
Btw, I am thankful to the HP employes who tried to help in this and other threads, definitely not their fault if the policy of their company sucks.
