Compaq 6715b boot from USB or DVD does not work

Hello,

I'm struggling with HP Co Windmpaq 6715b. I want to reinstall Windows but I'm not able to boot from USB stick (FAT32) or DVD (both media are bootable I checked on another computer). I have the correct order in the bios and have enabled booting them but in the end it always ends up with booting from NB harddrive.

I tried a lot of times (using various FS for USB stick). I was wondering that it may be BIOS issue so I wanted to update it (while the actual version is F.07) but also did not succeed.

I tried BIOS update from Windows (actually Bista Business 32bit) but the installer said "The system BIOS cannot be updated from Windows. Please use the appropriate BIOS ROMPAQ utility to update the system". I'm sure I'm using the correct one while I even used S/N to download the correct files (sp55556 and sp41979).

I also tried to create usb stick with BIOS but it went the same way as with Windows - It did not boot this USB drive.

Any suggestions what to try next because now I feel I tried almost everything I could.

Thanks

--Just to note that this 6715b has AMD Turion 64 X2 inside
