Hey hush4m,

For your notebook  DV6-6070se, the only supported drivers that HP does have is for Windows 7. I have included the document 'What if I Don't See My Operating System?'. This will answer many of your questions about why you don't see your operating system, and where you can possibly find software.

I have additionally included a document from Microsoft 'Upgrade to Windows 8.1 from Windows 7'. In this document there is an option for check your pc. This will tell you if your notebook can run Windows 8.1.

For your Intel HD Graphics 3000 card, I have included the link 'Intel® HD Graphics Driver for Windows 7/8/8.1 64-bit'. This is the latest driver available for Windows 8 and 8.1, that Intel has provided. If your notebook can support Windows 8 or 8.1, I would suggest installing this driver first. Due to the fact that you have switchable graphics, which uses the AMD Radeon HD 6770M. According to the 'AMD Catalyst™ Notebook Display Driver' page, it most likely does not have a compatible driver for Windows 8.1. However, for the AMD drivers there is a beta driver that you can try for Windows 8, here 'AMD Catalyst™ Notebook Display Driver'.

For the Beats Audio not being compatible with Windows 8.1. I have included a thread from the HP Support Forum here. Please follow the steps that have been outlined by VJ_R. This step has provided a solution for other users. This may work for you.

Please let me know if these steps are able to answer your questions, thank you.
