BIOS

Hi all,

I was doing a routine check on my computer (model Pavilion dv4-5114tx), i.e. updating the drivers. When I checked my BIOS through msinfo32, I noticed that the BIOS version was a F.35 Insyde (4/1/2013). I then referred to the driver update page on HP.com and noticed that the latest BIOS version for my model was a F.34 (12/18/2012). I don't recall making a BIOS upgrade since I got the computer last year. I might have done so... or I might not.

Anyway, I did some googling around but couldn't find much answer as to why I got a new BIOS version over the HP.com's version. Did I somehow installed the wrong BIOS version for my computer? If so, should I install the F.34 on the F.35? What are the consequences if I do so?

There's nothing wrong with the computer so far since 4/1/2013, if I recall properly. The computer has been running fine, save for when I'm playing my games and the laptop switched off over a long period (i.e. 1.5 - 2 hours) of gaming (and the shutdown message stated that it was to prevent the GPU from overheating or something). Laptop overheating due to games doesn't worry me much: I simply have to make sure my computer is properly ventilated and I can play longer. I'm sure the BIOS didn't cause this... unless I am totally wrong.

Anyway, TL;DR version: Should I install BIOS F.34 on a F.35?
