Re: HP Envy Touchsmart - Battery life time remaining on Windows 8 seems to fluctuate wildly

Howdy, I had called support and they instructed me to do some things which they felt might resolve the issue. So I needed some time to get those completed. First they had me reinstall the BIOS update (which actually seemed to corrupt my install). I had to go back to a known good point which fortunately was only a day earlier). Then they had me do a shutdown and remove the battery pack and hold the power button for15 seconds. I was then instructed to boot the PC with the power cord and no battery. Once Windows 8 was up, I was then told to put the battery back in and let it drain completely 3 times and then recharge. I did all this and as far as I can tell it didn't make a difference. I checked one time just now and the battery reported 81% with 2hrs and  29minutes left. I basically let it sit there at the tiles screen logging back in and checking things a few times and doing the same and then noticed it reported 73% with 1 hour and 48 minutes. I can't tell if the battery is defective or perhaps the BIOS thinks there is not as much left as there really is.

I got to believe other folks are having issues? Is it a BIOS issue or is it battery issue???? I do have the HD version so I am wondering if the wonderful battery life does not equate with HD? Even still I did purchase the 4702 CPU so I really thought my battery life was going to really be great. 73% with 1 hour and 48 minutes seems to be not even in the average range. What a disappointment to say the least!!!!
