I'm sorry you're running into this mic issue. Let me know what BIOS version you have.
You can find that by:
1. Click the Start button
2. Type 'system info'
3. Click System Information
4. Halfway down, on the right, you'll see BIOS Version/Date. Look for 'F.##' and let me know what that is.
Also what is the version number for the Vista 32 Audio driver you tried? If it is still installed you can find it in Device Manager.
1. Click Start
2. Type 'device'
3. Click Device Manager
4. Expand Sound, video and game controllers
5. Double-click on the line listed there (probably Conexant)
6. Click on the Driver tab and let me know which version number is shown there.
