Welcome to the HP Forum, MC67.
Interesting problem!
The following may work - you will need to convince one daughter or the other to use a different finger for logins; maybe draw straws or make a deal about chores.. Smiling.
First, from my Tips collection:
Dragon Tips:
- Back up (Export) your Webcards:
Export the Webcard Database:
When you have working SimplePass software, Export your Webcards. Webcards contain your websites and passwords. In the event that you must ever remove the SimplePass software, your webcard backup can be used (imported) to restore your website login information.
Start SimplePass> (**Settings) > Export NOTE: File will be named *.tsd
**
- Older Versions of SimplePass reference the Export command in the Settings menu in the top right
- Newer Versions may show the Export button in the lower left quarter section
Make this backup every so often and save it in a safe place.
If you ever need to completely remove and then reinstall your HP SimplePass software:
- Right after you reinstall the software,
- Set up the initial enrollment steps,
- Reboot the system and log in.
- Start SimplePass and then Import your .tsd file to restore your Webcards.

Once you have your Webcards backed up, you can try the following to reset the fingerprint mixup. This next part is excerpted from a larger procedure; I have left out some parts that I hope are not necessary for this fix.
Reset the Biometrics
Be aware and pay attention to the warning about the password data. This will remove your fingerprint password logon data (at the least) and the fingerprint password logon for any other users with accounts on this computer.
Windows 8:
Windows key + X> P (Opens the Control Panel) >>
OR
Windows 7:
Control Panel> icon view >>
Biometric Devices> Change Biometric Settings> Switch Biometrics OFF
- Restart / Reboot your computer and log in
RepeatComplete the "Repair SimplePass" procedure **- Next: Open the Control Panel > Biometrics > Switch Biometrics ON
- Restart / Reboot your computer and log in
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
**
Repair SimplePass Software
Windows 8
Windows key + X> F (Opens Programs and Features)
Windows 7
Control Panel> Programs and Features>
Next…
Scroll down and Look for HP SimplePass
Right-Click on HP SimplePass
Select "Repair"
- Restart / Reboot the computer
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
After the completion of the Biometrics Reset, you should not have any fingerprints enrolled.
- Have one daughter log in using her typed password.
- Start SimplePass, that is, the "Splash" command that brings up the SimplePass interface.
- Enroll a fingerprint. * Remember, the deal: each daughter uses a different finger from her sister. If Daughter One wants to use her Right Index finger, then Daughter Two cannot use HER right index finger - maybe she can be convinced to use her "pinky", or little, finger.
- Enroll a finger from the other hand. You always want to have at least two fingers enrolled.
- Start SimplePass > click on the "Locked box" along the top to "Set up Windows Logon"
- Exit SimplePass
- Reboot the system.
- When the Logon Screen starts, it may start for the daughter who was just logged in; Click on "Switch User" OR click on the "left facing arrow" next to her login picture to get to the Switch User Screen.
- Have Daughter Two log in, using her typed password.
- Repeat the above steps, this time having Daughter Two use different fingers, ie., her "pinky".
- Remember to reboot the system after D2 sets up her login. SimplePass LOVES a good reboot!

NOTE: If a fingerprint does exist from the previous setup, RIGHT-click on the existing fingerprint to remove it.

I hope that helps!
