I am having the exact same problem as "fonorow" with the hp bios update virus. I have tired to do the fix suggested but everytime I try I cannot get the cursor to move and then the update runs on it's own and even shuts down and restarts the computer. Then it is still locked up. It's not possible to go to any sites or open anythings. All the cursor does is highlight text on the screen. Of course my hp is also out of warranty. Norton did not catch this and now I can't run Norton or anything. I am taking it to a shop and will pay big bucks but I will never buy hp again. I am sending this message on a Tosh and I will stick with it. If anyone has a suggestion to get this virus out, please reply.
