This is a great place to ask questions, find solutions and get help from others in the community! I read your post on the HP Support Forums. I wanted to reach out to you and help with your Notebook going to the HP Logo and then shutting down again. You had said that you tried performing a full restoration but it did not work. 

 

If any of the solution's provided below resolve the issue, please mark this post as an "Accepted Solution" so that other's who have the same issue can find the step's easily. 

 

Please try cleaning the computer vents with compressed air and then restarting the Notebook. 

 

Do you happen to see a blue "Choose an Option" screen at all?

Have you tried to Test for Hardware Failures?

Did you happen to receive any error messages or error codes?

Do you have any beep codes or blinking LED lights? If yes, which ones are blinking and how many times?

 

Please note remove any and all USB devices. Disconnect all non-essential devices, as these could cause some issues.

 

Here is the Perform an HP system recovery document. With situations where the System Recovery fails, you can use the Troubleshooting HP System Recovery Problems document.

Recovery BIOS Password

Hello , a friend gave me his laptop , its a HP Pavilion , he chose to give me this Pc because the PC said no boot device , we had a usb key with Windows on it but we can't use it because the usb boot is not activated , there is a password needed to access the BIOS but i dont have it and my friend either so i came here for ask help

After 3 wrong password it said system disabled : 59834368

To get the issue resolved, please contact the HP tech support( since this cannot be resolve online )  who would be able to help you resolve the issue, they might need some information to get the password reset.

Am back again hoping to get a suitable result like i did got the last time i was here.my HP laptop is brand new bought from a store,and i had to return it to the store where it was bought the 3rd day just because it was not acting like a brand new laptop.it keep freezing like i don't know how to explain it,and the store said they can't take it back or give me another one cause i might have install some virus in it.and if at all they will accept it,they will only call me after 2weeks just to give to thier technicians to check.and i got lots to do was why i bought it.so what can be the solution to this.

According to the message you have recently posted I would like to confirm that this is a hardware issue and hard disk drive needs to be replaced to resolve the issue. I strongly recommend you to Contact HP Technical Support over the Phone for further assistance to get your Notebook diagnosed and serviced by an authorized HP Certified Engineer

Please contact vendors and explain the situation and hope they can re-activate for you. I've done twice with Office on my machines and no problem with that.

I got a 69$ internal disc harddrive from Best Buy. Is a seagate 1tb sata would this work? Says works with Windows 10 but under syestem requirements it has 6gb sata and am not sure if that means ram in which I have only 4gb.

I already have Windows 10 on my flash drive and just need to know if the harddrive is the kind that will work. Am just being a lil cautious other then that once I get all the syestem requirements I should be all ready to fix this.

Sorry for the bad news but unless (1) this PC came with Win10 preinstalled from HP, and (2) this PC is still under the original HP warranty, HP is not going to provide anything to you for free.

 

If the hard disk fails after the one year warranty is over, you have to replace it yourself or pay someone to replace it.

 

And then, you have to obtain HP Recovery Media to restore your PC to its original condition -- and that is not free, you have to pay to order it.

Hi I bought this computer with windows 7 already installed on it.  I was told that windows 7 pro was the one I needed to get microsoft office with it so I let someone install it and now it says its not a genuine copy pf windows.  I never received a disc with windows 7 os when i bought this computer.  I cannot upgrade because it say it not genuine. Microsoft says that I need the original product key for them to help me and I was told to contact HP to see if I could get a copy of windows 7 the original os system that was installed on my computer. Can you help me.

Either the DVD drive is not working or the recovery discs are not good. You may test the discs on another computer.

Mine is new 2 weeks old laptop, barely used. Just wanted to check if there are any updates, but nothing is working in Windows Update, it shows a blank screen.
