Ok, so today everything was normal i turned on my HP p2-1311, and was trying to fix a purple tinted screen issue (I ended up fixing it), however when i powered off to go celebrate my success with fixing the purple tinted screen when i came back and powered it back on, it took a lot longer to turn on, so i thought "Huh must be lagging" and everything was normal i typed in my password and pressed enter, i sat there for about five minutes it was saying "Preparing Windows" so i left for about half an hour and when i came back it was still doing that, 5 minutes later it stopped and there it was, the bsod, i restarted again, and kept having the same problem except instead of the bsod it kept saying "Whoops, something went wrong" and the options to retry or cancel, if i clicked retry it would instantly refresh, if i clicked cancel it would bring me to a desktop that looked as if i had just turned on the computer for the first time, and it said on the side of the screen that it was a temporary account and any files i made would be deleted and that i can't acces my files, help would be appreciated, P.S. i didn't do anything that i think would affect this, EG, installing apps, fiddling with the inner computer.

I learned that the biometric service had to be turned on. Here's what worked for me:
Start >Conrol Panel > Administrative Tools > Services. Look for the "Windows Biometric Service" line and st it to "automatic". Assuming that the correct driver in installed, it might help you, too.

I have two folders: Recovery and Hitachi Backup. The latter appeared there when I connected a Hitachi Touro Pro back up hard drive. It didn't show up as a separate drive. It should have been F: The Hitachi folder is very large and has taken up too much space in the Recovery partition.

Is there a way to downgrade my HP Pavilion 15t_ab200 from Windows 10 PRO to Windows 7 PRO?
I tried looking into the Security and Recovery section, but there is no option to "Go back to Windows 7". Plus, I don't see any Windows 7 driver for this particular laptop model.
I'm not familiar with Windows 10 at all. Please help. Thanks in advance!
Didn't work. I guess I'll need to go buy some CDs :/
Hello
Thank you for visiting the HP Forums!
I understand that your HP Pavilion 15-ab25 Notebook is not operating correctly. I would like to help you resolve this issue.
First, please perform a hard reset. After that, complete the steps from this troubleshooting document and then test the hardware:
HP Notebook PCs - Computer Does Not Start (Windows 10)
HP Notebook PCs - Testing for Hardware Failures (Windows 10, 8)
I look forward to the results! If this information is helpful, click the thumbs up.
HEY! I gave a ThumbsUp because your response was very helpful.
Why am I telling you this?
Because I also wanted to comment that I'm really displeased and dissatisfied with the fact that HP opted to discontinue LightScribe. I loved it, used it VERY frequently, and still try to - when I can find reasonably priced lightscribe disks. That may not matter now, though, as my two optical drives have decided to crap out on me at the same time. (It's not like I don't hate this computer enough already...)
Regardless, thanks for the informative response.
Mike
Hello
Thank you for posting on the HP Forums!
I understand that you are looking for a recovery image for your HP Envy 15-j152sr. Did you create recovery media when you first got the notebook?
It does not appear that the recovery software is available online.
There is a document on how to go back to a previous version of Windows depending on how your notebook upgraded.
HP PCs - Go Back to a Previous Version of Windows (Windows 10)
I look forward to your reply! If this information is helpful, click the thumbs up.
Sorry, but the basic answer is no. HP isn't writing old Win7 drivers for the hardware contained in the new Win10 PCs.
While you can force the installation of Win7, that is a very difficult thing to do, and when you're done, you will have a laptop for which some of the hardware will not function properly due to the lack of HP drivers.
If you wanted a Win7 PC, you should have bought one with Win 7 already installed.
Good Luck

We would love to try to help but assuming the computer has no hardware issues, you should be able to recover using a Windows 8 or 8.1 media disk or the HP recovery disks. If we are going to troubleshoot this we have to get down in the weeds and figure out the problem. You should first run a hardware diagnostic to rule out a bad hard drive or memory because either will prevent an OS from installing. Tap F2 as you power up to see if you can get into hardware diagnostics.

I have had this laptop for just a week. Yesterday I started to encounter a problem whereby when I attempted to open a photograph through the Photo application I received a blank screen with a dialogue stating "The remote procedure call failed". Furthermore when I attempted to access many other applications .E.G. Calculator, Camera, Maps, People Skype, to name a few, a screen would flash and that would be it. When I encountered this I contacted HP support and they logged into my laptop and the solution was to create a new id. That might have been satisfactory as a one-off but now it has happened to two other ids on the laptop.
I have installed no other software on the laptop other than what came with it. To say I am fed up with this would be an understatement. As I said I have only had the laptop a week.
Can anybody offer a solution for this problem before I send the laptop back to HP to restore and sort out. Perhaps you can understand my utter frustration.
I would greatly appreciate any assistance and advice.
Thank you.
It worked
