Re: HP ProBook 450 G3 - missing drivers
Re: Xp w10, how?
Hello Wawood:
I am sorry, 'Portable' is the same meaning of 'Laptop' Mine should be the 2nd: Portable.
The downloaded file is "rufus-2.7p.exe(861k)" It now has been in my hard-disk.
Start 'RUN' the "rufus-2.7p.exe", appear a table "Rufus 2.7.855" The upper five blank-space of this table are:
'Device' and 'Partion scheme and target system type' and 'File system' and 'Cluster size' and 'New volum lable' These blank-space should be allowed to write something, BUT they are all forbidden to write any word except the 5th blank space.
impossile to write in the first 4-blank-space and then the bottom "start" button is always "dark"
or GRAY away.
The installation has to stop!
I don't know what wrong I have made.
Re: Base System Device
You're very welcome.
Glad to have been of assistance.
That driver is for the sd card reader.
God Bless you too!
Re: Unknown Device Driver - HP Notebook (Model 15-ac121dx)
tq it worked!
Fingerprint scanner shuts off at power up
Every since I loaded the new driver, the fingerprint scanner goes to sleep about a minute after coming on. I tried reactivating by using the signon option but it never wakes up. I have to reboot and scan my finger immediately. If I don't scan my finger right away. The scanner turns off and never comes back on. How can I revert to the old driver?

Thanks
Sorry, I have no experience with AMD processors.

Re: HP Envy17 Driver_IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL (iaStorA)
Good to hear back from you
My next suggestion would be to see if you can boot the notebook in safe mode and update the Intel RST Driver.
Here is the guide for booting in safe mode: HP PCs - Windows Safe Mode (Windows 10, 8)
You can find the newest version here: Downloads for Intel® Rapid Storage Technology (Intel® RST) - downloadcenter.intel.com
Hopefully this helps. If it does, please take a moment to hit the Thumbs Up button.
Let me know how it goes.
Cheers,
TechSurge.
Re: Xp w10, how?
Hi WAWood:
Please read the #9 message. In the #9 message, I did change the method of making "Bootable USB
Stick"
I feel this USB stick should be right.
For Pavilion dv6-1334us, there are 2-booting ways: from hard-disk or CDROM. How make the Pavilion
to boot from the "Bootable USB drive" to install w10.
Thanks!
Re: Pavillion Notebook drivers for Windows 10PRO
Are you talking Pro x64 or Pro x86 which is it?
Re: laptop starts but then goes straight to Startup Repair - windows cannot repair this computer aut
Hello;
Allow me to welcome you to the HP forums!
I read your post about your PC being trashed by the Win10 Upgrade and wanted to help.
Same thing happened to me with my HP DV6 laptop -- and I wish I had good news, but I don't.
The Win10 GoBack function is know to be unreliable and when it fails, it can leave machines in a corrupted state -- which doesn't always happen, but it does happen often enough to be a problem and you won't get any warning in advance that it is going to trash your PC!
The Win10 Upgrade is know, in some cases, to corrupt the Recovery partition stored there by the OEM that built the original machine. This pretty much guarantees that no HP Recovery is going to work.
What will work is restoring your machine to its original factory condition using HP Recovery Media. This is a set of DVDs and a CD, or USB stick, that will erase the hard drive (removing all data, settings, and applications, reinstall the original OS, drivers, and some HP Utilities. In some cases, you may be able to order a USB stick instead of disks. You have to order these from HP; they can not be downloaded.
You can look online for Recovery Media starting with the linked paged: http://support.hp.com/us-en/drivers
Once there, input your Product name or number. On your Software and Drivers Download page, select your Operating System and and Version. Click "Update". If HP Recovery Media is available for your machine, down near the bottom of the page, you will see an entry for Order Recovery Media-CD/DVD/USB. Click the "+" symbol to expand that entty and click on Order Media for details.
Or, if you prefer, you can do the same by contacting HP Customer Service:
If you live in the US or Canada, contact information is on this page: http://www8.hp.com/us/en/contact-hp/phone-assist.html#section1
If you live elsewhere, contact information is on this page: http://www8.hp.com/us/en/contact-hp/ww-contact-us.html
Note that if HP no longer provides Recovery Media for your model, a couple of other sites you can check are: http://www.computersurgeons.com/ and http://www.restoredisks.com/
Be sure to read through the material in the linked thread BEFORE you attempt the recovery: http://support.hp.com/us-en/document/c00707939
Good Luck

Re: stuck on black screen on boot
Hello;
Allow me to welcome you to the HP forums!
I read your post about your black screen problem and wanted to help.
See if you are able to follow the instructions in this thread to test the hard drive: Testing a Hard Disk from the BIOS | HP® Customer Support
If that indicates the drive has failed, unless the PC is still under warranty, you are faced with having to purchase a replacement drive.
If that does not indicate the drive has failed, then see if you are able to follow the instructions in this thread: Black Screen Displays with No Error Messages During Startup or Boot | HP® Customer Support
Good Luck

Hi I need to recover password on my HP 5700 any ideas
When turned on straight away goes to repair/boot page
BIOS is not being updated - black screen problem
I bought my laptop 8 months go and upgraded to windows 10. Initially I had a problem with the USB ports not coming active on start up and for the last few months I have had an issue that happens roughly every month and the computer doesn't start up properly and shows a black screen that doesn't respond to any action. A hard reset has no effect.
The laptop is sent off to a repair station which takes a week and they report that the BIOS is out of date, has not been updated and has to be reloaded.
Does anyone know why the BIOS is not updating??? I run McAfee LiveSafe security package.
