Re: computer crashed and I cant read windows sticker
Recovery Discs do Not require license key. If you did not make your set you can order them from HP:
Btw-have you tried tapping F11 immediately after powering on to see if you can boot into recovery?
Re: HP Laptop randomly goes to a black screen.
Hey there, I have the same laptop and I was curious to see if you have resolved the problem or if it contirues to persist? If you have been able to "fix" the issue of the screen going blank/ black, could you tell me how you did it? Thanks
My first purchase had the same issues, but also had other issues with it's hardrive and other components so I had to return it. This one works "ok" but will occasionally, if anything randomly, go black. The screen is obviously on but I can't see anything.
Any help would be great, thanks

Re: Drivers Wifi, Usb 3.0 Bluetooth 4.0 drivers needed for HP 15-r074TU notebook
Thank you for the reply
After installing the above mentioned drivers from the mentioned link.
Please note that Bluetooth is missing from the device manager after installing the mentioned driver
phantom click problem
Finally I could solve “ghost tapping” on HP slate 500. –a problem on touch screen that called phantom click or ghost tap.-
HP have not had any idea and never response about it. It seems that problem is common on some tablet PC or touch screen in windows’ devices.
If you uninstall or disable completely the driver of touch screen you lost tablet options and you should use it as laptop by using mouse and keyboard! But I found a solution that you can use it as a tablet.
I'll write and upload the solution as soon as possible.

Re: Sleep and Shutdown issues after upgrading to Windows 10
My HP laptop, 15-F010DX running Windows 10 64-bit, had this problem untiltwodays ago. The HP Support Assistant kept failing on installing an upgrade of the MEI and the intel chip utility. I went to https://downloadcenter.intel.com/download/25095/Intel-ME-11-Management-Engine-Driver-1-5M-for-Intel-NUC and installed just the MEI myself. I was shocked to find that my shutdown problem was gone!
Next day I installed the chip utility myself from Intel as well and it installed successfuly. The HP Support Assistant now sees my system as current.

Re: computer crashed and I cant read windows sticker
If you can't read the key the only option is to order Recovery Discs from the link I posted above. They are usually around $20.
Or buy a retail copy of Windows 7.

Re: Changing Fn Key operation. No BIOS option.
I've figured out the problem. Presumably this would work even for people who are currently going into the BIOS to turn off the action keys. This isn't necessary and thankfully, this solution works for people who can't turn off the action keys, for whatever stupid reason.
The issue is 100% a hardware issue, specifically a keyboard issue.
Many keyboards have two symbols on the Fkeys. You'll see F1 and whatever symbol is used to represent the action it'll do. Most keyboards will do one action over the other, with the other action requiring the pressing of the Fn Key. Sometimes the Fn Key will be colored and the secondary action of the Fkey will likewise be colored (either the F or the Symbol).
So this is the trick. If you want to use the Fkeys regularly, choose a keyboard that does NOT have action symbols on them OR one that has colored action symbols. If there is no coloring, whatever symbol is first is the primary function. If the Fkey (F1...F12) is first, that's the primary function. If it's a symbole first, that is the primary function.
So if people need to use the Fkeys, get a keyboard that has the Fkeys first or simply without the action symbols.
Re: Microphone sofware
It will be the audio Driver.

You could also install HP support assistant to update all the drivers on the PC.

Re: trying to do a hard reset
If you hit escape, you will find the list of options.
If F11 is not present as an option here, then you will not be able to do a factory reset.
This unfortunately, would mean that your PC's Hard Drive has gone bad and needs replacement.
Re: Can NOT disable TouchPad PERMANENTLY GOOD NEWS PROBLEM RESOLVED somehow
Earlier today I went in to Disable the Touchpad as usual and discovered it was already disabled. Could not remember if I had done this earlier or not. So shut down laptop, started it up and ureka the touchpad was still disabled.
Amazing, now after almost 3 months of aggravation the problem is gone and then I remembered there was an update from HP that came to my desktop yesterday afternoon and I did the download and install. Maybe this is what fixed my Touchpad problem.
Happy HP Laptop owner now. Many thanks to all here that tried to help me. Obviously there was some sort of glitch in my new laptop. Alls well now.
I just discovered that it is the "Disable Internal Pointing Device when external USB pointing device is attached" that works. If I use the "Clickpad Enable" and "Clickpad Disable" buttons the Disable setting is cancelled when computer is shut down BUT using the Disable when USB mouse attached seems to work permanently.
Hope this helps others.
