To get a passcode generated you must first provide a Halt code. To get the code just leave the password blank and tap Enter key. After 3 tries you will get the code to post here.

Yes, I UNDERSTAND that MS has RELEASED the v1809 Upgrade -- but I'm telling you that I check the Win10 community forums daily, and SO FAR, the ONLY folks that have received the v1809 upgrade were the following:

1) folks that did it before it got halted

2) folks who have manually checked for updates

ALL the PCs I have access to are part of the first group.

That does not mean that no one has received the Upgrade, it just means that, as far as I can tell from the forums I visit, the only folks that HAVE received it are the groups that I mention above.

That was my bad - I didn't realize that Microsoft still hadn't rolled out automatic installs of 1809. However, I take issue with the below:

As to it being RELEASED, that is not entirely without its limitations, as MS currently had three Upgrade Blocks in place -- for folks with hardware that has been found to have problems with the v1809 Upgrade -- and one of those blocks is for Intel drivers, which, as far as I know, they have not lifted yet.

The Intel driver block is only for specific versions of the display audio driver, as described here:

Windows® 10 October 2018 Update update may be blocked due to issues seen with Intel® Display Audio Driver versions 10.25.0.3 through 10.25.0.8... A fix for these issues is already included in Intel® Display Audio Driver version 10.25.0.10, which is bundled with Intel® Graphics Driver version 24.20.100.6286 and newer.

Thus, if HP releases the updates to the graphics drivers, I see no reasons why manually requested updates to 1809 should not be possible.

Ok so I tried that and I was given the code [1 59744533]. Actually no certain if the first number be for the space is a 1 or I but I am assuming a 1 given the rest of the code is numerical.

Hello, I need to get the Windows 7 ISO to do a clean install on my computer. I got Windows 10, and graphics card errors are making me wish I had never "upgraded." I have already backed everything up, now all i need is the Windows 7 ISO.

I went to the microsoft website, and when I put my product key in from the back of my computer, it says "Error - The product key you entered appears to be for software pre-installed by the device manufacturer. Please contact the device manufacturer for software recovery options."

First:- Turn off the computer, press and hold the PWR button for 4 seconds.

Then - Leave only keyboard and mouse connected, disconnect all externally connected
devices such as Docking Station, USB storage devices, displays, and printers.
Unplug the AC adapter from the computer.

Next - Press and Hold the Power button for 15 seconds to Hard Reset.

AND/OR - Power on your PC, press Esc (repeatedly), then F2 at the prompt.
Choose System Tests (Fast Test does a 4 minute hardware check).

AND/OR - Windows Logo key + Ctrl + Shift + B
(This key sequence actually restarts you graphics drive(W10 only).)

AND/OR - If you’re using multiple displays, try projecting video to a different monitor.
Press the Windows Logo key + P, select a display, and then press Enter.

Unfortunately the hard Disk may have sustained damage.  Hopefully the above actions will show any problem.

Hi

Dependant on the type of restore you did.

W7 and W10 Repair.png

Possibly Windows.OLD/Users, but a factory reset is Factory Fresh, how it left the factory before you installed/saved anything.

https://www.ccleaner.com/recuva   is unlikely to find owt, but....

GParted is a free partition editor for graphically managing your disk partitions.
With GParted you can resize, copy, and move partitions without data loss, enabling you to:

  • Attempt data rescue from lost partitions

Try and return the internal HDD to the previous 'broken' state with Gparted.

"" saved the backup to my external hard drive (which took 9 tries whcih is why I am still sitting here 10 hours later), ""

As what file format?  Using what software?

Hi

Which is...  HP Pavilion dv6t-6b00 CTO Quad Edition Entertainment Notebook PC

https://support.hp.com/us-en/product/hp-pavilion-dv6-6b00-quad-edition-entertainment-notebook-pc-series/5169505/model/5171117?sku=QJ912AV

So you may be able to make a DVD/USB from the Heidoc Site and add in the drivers needed from the HP website, thus creating your own Lo-Cost/No-Cost Recovery Media.

Much like mine...

Welcome to the HP Support Community. This is a great place to get support, find answers and tips to your technical queries. I have reviewed your post and I understand, there's an issue with the "Wi-Fi doesn’t have a valid IP configuration" error.

Don't worry, I'm here to help! To better assist you -

1) What's the exact model name of the computer? Refer to this link for steps to find the product details. (Ensure not to share the serial number, email, phone number, etc.)

2) What's the operating system installed?
3) Were there any hardware or software changes made?

While you respond to that, let's try these steps -

Step 1 Network Troubleshooter -
1) In the search box, type and open "Troubleshooter".
2) Click on "Network and Internet".
3) Click on "Internet Connections".

Step 2 Run Network commands -
1) In the search box on the taskbar, type Command prompt, press and hold (or right-click) Command prompt, and then select Run as administrator > Yes.
2) At the command prompt, run the following commands in the listed order, and then check to see if that fixes your connection problem:
Type netsh winsock reset and press Enter.
Type netsh int ip reset and press Enter.
Type ipconfig /release and press Enter.
Type ipconfig /renew and press Enter.
Type ipconfig /flushdns and press Enter.

Step 3 Re-install the Network Adapter -
1) In the search box on the taskbar, type Device Manager, and then select Device Manager from the list of results.
2) In Device Manager, select Network adapters > the network adapter name.
3) Right-click on the network adapter, and then select Uninstall device > Delete the driver software for this device check box > Uninstall.
4) Restart the computer.

Hope this helps!

Let me know how that goes.
