Sadly to say: Most of the time the 24 char failure id indicates the HDD is failing and it needs to be replaced. Is it still under warranty ? If Yes, please call HP for a replacement.

Since your machine previously ran Windows 10, you can do a clean install W10 for free by using the media creation tool at the link below.

The tool will allow you to make a bootable installation media (USB/DVD) and you can use installation media to install.
During the installation process if you are asked to enter a product key, check the 'Skip' box and W10 will install and then automatically activate once you are connected to the internet using the key embedded in BIOS of your machine.
Then you can install the drivers and available software you need from your PC's support page.

No they are NOT missing. Your machine came with FreeDOS 1.2 and you did not install them properly with Windows 10. I can't see the image (letters are too small). Now, please post there Hardware Id's using the following instructions

Hye, I have the Compaq CQ42 unit , i want to reinstall the OS win 7, but the product key sticker is smeared so some of the character can't reconqnize. Is it possible to retrieved it back? Thank you.

Welcome to the HP Support Community. This is a great place to get support, find answers and tips to your technical queries. I have reviewed your post and I understand, the computer is stuck at restore.
Appreciate you trying the steps. Don’t worry, I’m here to help!
Let's try these steps -
1) Shutdown the computer.
2) Unplug all the Adapter and peripherals connected.
3) Press and hold down the power button for 15 to 20 seconds.
4) Plug-in the Adapter.
5) Try to turn on the computer.
Try restoring the computer again and choose a different date or a restore point -
1) Shutdown the computer.
2) Turn the computer back on again and repeatedly tap on the ESC until a Startup menu appears.
3) Press F11 once for System Recovery.
4) Choose the Keyboard Layout.
5) Click on Troubleshoot.
6) Go to Recovery Manager and click on System Restore.
7) Choose a Restore point or a Restore date when the computer was working fine.
8) Click on OK to initialize the System Restore.

How can I update to a version of Chrome higher than 68.0.3440.118?
I can't play netflix on my chromebook. I went through all trouble shooting with the live chat support from netflix and they advised to contact the manufacturer to find a way to update a version of Chrome higher than 68.0.3440.118. I really dont want to have to buy another computer just to watch netflix. Can you please help me.

It is frustrating to see that the only possible answer is that the problem is sent to another department within HP. Please take care of the problem itself. This beautiful and expensive machine is not able to use the latest version opf Windows 10,
HP is a big company and should have taken care of this problem. I'm starting to regret not to have chosen for Microsoft Surfacebook.

Hey . Installed windows 7. Faced with the problem of RAM. For some reason, it does not work as a cavity, even if only a little. I looked at a lot of instructions to solve this problem. Installed the driver for updating the BIOS - did not help. Changed system configuration - did not help. What to do ? Help me please . In principle, this could not touch. But still not nice. There is absolutely nothing wrong with that reading.
When you add extra memory, and there is still some left to allocate to the graphics, that's where it goes.
Some folks get a lot less than that.
If you were to remove the 2 GB chip and replace it with a 4 GB chip, you may find you get 7.xx GB out of 8.
Nothing needs to be done, nor can anything be done.

Why my computer don't star? What I can do?
my laptop does not start, it gives me the warning to repair automatically and then several options to repair the error, 1) continue to window, 2) use a device usb drive, 3) use another operating system, 4) troubleshoot, 5) turn off your PC But I already try several of those options and none of them start and do not access my files, photos, videos, etc. it restarts and returns to the same every time I turn it on. What should I do?

While Belarc Advisor often does work, it only finds the product key in the Registry.
If that does not work, you can try using this tool:
