Are you choosing the boot device at start up? With the Recovery Disc in the drive-power up and immediately start tapping Esc key. From the menu that appears you will see F9 Boot Options. Tap F9, then use arrow keys to move down and highlight/select CD/DVD drive. Then tap Enter key.

Did you make Recovery Media for the laptop-either DVD or USB flash drive? If so try booting from it. If you did not make the media call HP Support about ordering. >>Con tact HP

Factory recovery media error

I ordered the recovery media from the product support page -- http://support.hp.com/us-en/drivers/selfservice/HP-ENVY-15-Notebook-PC-series/5186791/model/5218395

Today I got the recovery media usb in the mail. I plugged in in, booted from the usb, and began the recovery process.

Going through the factory image preparation wizard things went well until 100%. When it reached 100% I got an error saying that

-- "Windows cannot find 'D:/System.sav/Util/RStone.exe' make sure you typed the filename correctly and try again"

I'm assuming that "D:/" refers to my usb recovery media.

Anybody got anything? Not sure what to do here..

I helped a good friend to downgrade HP Pavilion 15 e037c1 from Windows 8.1 to Windows7 Ultimate. I thought this is simple things, so I didn't even keep a backup of the original win8.1. After doing a custom installation of Windows 7 Ultimate, I got a problem with not working usb and network card on it. Can anybody give me a guide? After reviewing google results, I know there are a lot things to do. I hope that I can get a quick solution. Thanks for help in advance. Best regards.

I have been using my computer for about 1 year, and it happens usually after I wake up my computer after sleep mode, and sometimes while I am using my computer. I update my computer frequently, so I believe it is not because of unupdated drivers.

There are different error messages, and I remember some of them: "Driver IRQL not less or equal" (What failed: atikmdag.sys), "Page fault in nonpaged area" (What failed: atikmdag.sys), "Kmode exception not handled", "Bad-Pool header".

Hi BH, thanks.

I created the ISO DVD and UBS using the tool and get 2 errors.

It asks where do I want to install win it says we could not find any drives. To get a storage driver click load driver. The other options are not lit.

When I click load driver it says there are no signed drivers so I am stuck.

In DOS in Disk part I did a list disk and found Vol 0 for 29GB. It is a 750 GB HD.

I am trying to learn how to assign another drive to load windows on but it is complicated.
